So as these things tend to go, I've recently become very busy with other things and have neglected this thread for way too long:blueCry:
Many new changes have come since my last update to this thread, mainly performance orientated.
First things first:Cobb Impressions
The Cobb is a pretty amazing tool/toy to have!

raise:
I'm not gonna start the whole Cobb vs jb4 debate all over again :hammerhead:
All I can say is that install is very easy. I simply recommend speaking to someone with previous experience when first installing.
I had some trouble getting the Accessport to marry with my dme initially, but a email of 2 later (I waited about a day or so for Cobbs' response, which I think is pretty good) and we got it sorted!!
Cobb is great for someone that's looking for an instant boost in power without too much effort.
I'm not going to mention all the extra features like on-the-fly readings of boost/afr's/timing/intake temps/0-100kph/400m timers and many MANY more as that will take too long(I'm sure any person interested in Cobb would have seen videos on YouTube). But just know they are very detailed, useful, easy to read and simply cool:coolShake:
Cobb comes at a price yes, but knowing that it can be sold in future (I hope) gives me reasonable piece of mind that it was a wise investment to get the most out of my car.
It's an awesome tool, feels like a premium product, comes with all the accessories you need, and is an idiot-proof product. I rate it a solid 4/5:clapper:
Now regarding the OTS maps (off the shelf) that Cobb provide you with;so far that's all I've been able to experiment with.
I can definitely say they provide plenty of added power:cartel:
After doing downpipe at a popular local exhaust shop I was immediately astonished and surprised.
I never knew a dp could change the character and feel of a car SOOO MUCH!!
Unfortunately I was too excited and changed to Cobbs Aggressive maps to accommodate the added mods. Boost spikes of well over 20psi had my stock charge pipe blow off and damaged my tmap sensor in the process:hammerhead:
I've been able to temporarily patch things back up just to get her driving reliably again. Thanks to a brand new cp-e charge pipe I got from Revo at Rennzport once again!
Since then I've made the car back to stock cos she's due for servicing very soon.
As soon as I get her back I will be adding the mods again and this time document things a bit better by dyno-ing more regularly. A new dyno has opened-up nearby and this will make things much easier:=):
Some pics of the mods going on the car, and some which were already on the car:rollsmile:
So this is the damaged t-map sensor. Notice how the metal pins bent as the stock cp blew off due to the high pressure.
The weakpoint where the stock cp broke off
I heard a loud POP! And saw around 22.5psi boost on the Cobb Accessport. After engine light and limp-mode I checked to find this.
And some pics of the mods as promised
Rennzport Catless Downpipe , beautiful no?
CP-e charge pipe
BMS intake (yet to fit)
Some unofficial times I've recorded
Upcoming plans include having all the mods fitted and also getting a custom map/custom flash tune made by ProTuningFreaks.
I've recently read good things of their work on other international forums and have noticed that the Cobb OTS maps aren't adequately suited for our local conditions and fueling needs.
A FMIC (front mounted intercooler) is also planned to get the most out of the PTF tune, but I'm getting ahead of myself here...
Thanks for reading...
