So this car is getting sold soon.
I just thought it would’ve nice to update this thread a bit to show how it all ended up looking.
Just haven’t spent nearly enough time on this thread as I should have (sorry folks)
So I ditched the Cobb cos it is just not nearly anywhere as good as the jb4 using ots-maps and I moved over to jb4(thank heavens I did)
Other things I got on the performance front are:
-AMS intercooler (much bigger than stock, I would say about 20-25% larger)
-BMS Sport oil cooler valve
-Bluetooth Jb4 Connect kit (doesn’t add performance, but makes logging and jb4-ing a lot more convenient)
On the cosmetics front a few things were added also after the last update(more than a year ago I think, sorry again about that folks):
-Added a time-attack ring alongside the VMR’s edges(made a HUGE difference in helping the wheels pop and make them more pronounced)
-BMW Performance (OEM) side skirts
-iCarbon lip (full carbon fibre)
-BMW Performance carbon fibre mirror covers (OEM)
Would love to make a guide on each and every install but I don’t have time for this lol. There are plenty of vids on the net to show you how anyways, as I’m sure you’ll know.
I will post pics of the items though....
Let’s get the important bit out the way...
After adding all those items we organized a Rennzport dyno-day.
Got my car properly dialed-in thanks to alotta help from Twinz( thanks again uncle Charles, you carry legendary status in my books, and I salute you for this) the week before the dyno.we perfected a decent fuel mix and the car was feeling very powerful!!
-Just keep in mind I DID NOT have the intercooler installed at this time. And that might possibly have added another kw or 2.
But unfortunately on my way to the dyno, while driving there, I did a few logs/runs and picked up a misfire in one of the cylinders. As soon as boost kicks in at about 3500rpm-4000rpm(as the logs wil show) the car would jerk and I could obviously feel something was not right. It wasn’t doing this the few days before the dyno while setting her up
I decided “screw it!” and had the bitch tied down anyways (against a few peoples suggestion lol)!!!
I was very surprised by the results actually and managed 296kw/653nm
On only 5 perfectly working cylinders I think that’s not too bad...
A mate of mine with the exact same setup with added intercooler but different fuel-mix managed 307kw/711nm if I remember correctly....
