technical 118i power upgrade

Is the power output of 118i 2016 100kw? If so, what are good options for better performance. I’m thinking of plug in chip, air intake filter, and removing the cat. Please advise on what’s the best Route and which suppliers to use.

Hi,

The 118i comes with two engine variants, the N13 & B38 engines.

We have done many with both variants.

With a downpipe and ecu tune the N13's gain 40-50kw & 70-100nm.

The B38 gains 20-25kw & 30-40nm with the same mods.

An intake will make zero power on these cars in fact it will probably lose power.

Thanks. It’s the b38. Was looking at a plug and play chip but it seems like the power gains are too small to bother.

Yes those are a waste, ecu flash is the way to go
