BMW Fanatics
This past weekend I installed a Racechip (plug and play) unit onto my car.
I must say that I’m very happy with it so far, there is a big power difference and very noticeable.
I will be putting the car on the dyno Friday night with the chip and without the chip to see the actual difference.
They claim that the KW (125) will be going to 158KW and the NM (250) going to 320NM.
See the link below for more details.

Thanks :inlove:

Nice, looking forward to those figures, does the car need to adapt at all after putting it in or removing it?

Awesome stuff I have been looking at these for some time myself - where did you source the module from? Direct import from Germany or did you use the local guys - I see they have a SA website now but only contact details so not too sure yet..

These guys were at JIMS.
They running a special on the racechip ultimate.
R5500.
Claim a 30% increase in power.
Let us know if u do a dyno, and how the graph looks. I'm not bothered about top power but rather how the power is made across the rev range.

What about your Motorplan bud?

Hi Bud, just remove it before a service, The Racechip developer for Germany was At the motor show and he actually installed it for me in the parking lot, Very Trust worthy guy, He has a 135 Coupe in Germany, with racechip installed, he said he removes it and BMW never picked it up in the last year that he had it.

Yeh this thing works. If you only want software on the car and don't plan on adding hardware, its great.

Bought the Pro at Jims this weekend. Installed it in a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 3.2 later in the day in the parking-lot. Works pretty well.

Was chatting to the guy that owns the franchise for SA, he showed me a 335i E90 on the dyno. It made 204wkw stock and with the unit installed it made 235wkw, not bad I think for this little unit. Can't remember the torque figures thou.

Some Dyno Results.

Went to Black Box Dyno night on Friday, Very well organized and the dyno was in mint condition.

Unfortunately i forgot the dummy plug at home so only got results with the racechip. ( On default settings) and not without it.
See Pic.
With the racechip installed I could also feel that the Power was not at the same RPM’s that it used to be.
Yesterday I opened the box and increased it with 2 notches. Much much better. The power kicks in at the same rpm’s that it used to without the chip, It’s just MORE power now. Will give it a run for a week and play around more. When I have the best setting for my style of driving I will put it on the dyno again to see the results.
Im new on the dyno Results, please tel me your thoughts
Please feel free to ask more. Sorry for the sort review.
