Some Dyno Results.

Went to Black Box Dyno night on Friday, Very well organized and the dyno was in mint condition.

Unfortunately i forgot the dummy plug at home so only got results with the racechip. ( On default settings) and not without it.
See Pic.
With the racechip installed I could also feel that the Power was not at the same RPM’s that it used to be.
Yesterday I opened the box and increased it with 2 notches. Much much better. The power kicks in at the same rpm’s that it used to without the chip, It’s just MORE power now. Will give it a run for a week and play around more. When I have the best setting for my style of driving I will put it on the dyno again to see the results.
Im new on the dyno Results, please tel me your thoughts
Please feel free to ask more. Sorry for the sort review.

Did you increase the duration as well?

nope only the (s2, left) switch, please correct me if im wrong, i don't think the (s1, right) switch makes a deference on petrol Turbo cars, Mostly used for Diesel Turbo, I read this on another Forum?

Know of anybody that tried this on a diesel beemer?
Would live to try this on my 120d, sure it'll make crazy torque with this chip!

Also worried bout mp so ill wait to hear how it goes.

Racechip for the x20d states 175kw/500nm - my major concern here is the gearbox really. The ZF8 is rated at 500nm max input torque.

The Gent From Racechip has one on his 1.6 TDI, Big difference. With the Diesel Cars you can Set it to kick in At Different RPM's. Whats also nice about it you can always use it on your next car as well, Just by the new harness and load new cars firmware, Think its will cost you +- R300.

Yea true, for my 130kw/350nm 120d it states max gain of 168kw/440nm with the racechip pro which is significant enough for me to warrant spending the money and should still be safe gearbox wise.

That sounds awesome. Did yours come preloaded with the firmware for your car or did you have to get it loaded?

Nope, they loaded it on the spot, took about 2 min with USB port.

BTW how quick is the removal and installation? I ask because my main concern is if something fails on the car and I need to take to dealership immediately either myself or Bmw Assist will I be able to remove the unit quickly.

Did you just remove the plugs or disconnect battery from car as well before removing?

Im not giving you my full thoughts of the CHIPBOX as the owner is a nice guy:

I gained 5wkw and about 10nm on 335i.

Works better on the diesels.

Hi All,

I have been following this thread for a small while and I took the jump yesterday and got one of these Racechip with Dries. Very nice team they have going and they really took the time to explain everything to me even though I went there after hours.
With regards to the performance all I can say is WOW :praise:. I feel like my car has wings hehe. The car pulls noticeably better and by the time my eyes reach the speedometer I am always making more than 100km/h:rollsmile: This is on a F20 125. Quoted figures are 203kw and 396nm after the tune but I will confirm that at the during the KAR dyno day on the 25th.
Dries and Wanti also said that it will get better as it adapts to the car so I will see if I can get even more out of the car by that time.

All in all it seems like I have done a very good purchase
