Let me give the forum a bit of a update:

The bottom end was closed up successfully without any headaches. When we washed the oil pump we found a piece of plastic similar to a piece of cable tie in it that must've been there from the car when the car was new :flyfun: Quite wierd and it worrisome considering the environment these motors are assembled.

Here is the bottom end with the sandwitch plate installed and torqued.

Timing chain that even a leb would be proud of :roflol:

We got around to installing the ARP head studs and putting the heads on.

Next was to install the modified heads that include SLS valve buckets and modified SLS cam splash plates and covers. I will do the pictures of the top end in my next post but we hit a bit of a hurdle here.
It turns out that the original cam timing on the car was of by a degree or two on 3 of the camshafts. This amount was within AMG tolerance I guess. We couldnt move the cams a tooth to adjust them right as each tooth is too much of a jump. At the end of the cams there is a bolt which holds the gear in place. This is a stretch bolt so needs to be changed. I ordered the bolts long time ago. Turns out its the right part number with the wrong bolt so we need to order again. So we stuck for the next few days.

The missing bolt x 4.

The good news is my body kit is at customs and my drag set up wheels have arrived.

I have two sets of full slicks with skinnies at the front. They are 15 inch wheels and I have a C350 brake conversion at the back for race days.
