Fast....yes!!!Wowzers! Is x drive incredibly scary fast?? Or should the rwd variant be just fine..
The RWD will be scary to the untrained and inexperienced driver, the AWD is insanely quick due to the power being put down MUCH more efficiently.Wowzers! Is x drive incredibly scary fast?? Or should the rwd variant be just fine..

Looking good! Just need to close that wheel gap & it will look perfect!Hey guys,
Small update, really loving the car and trying my very best to get enough time to drive it but failing hopelessly on that front lol. With work and other commitments and all the holidays it has been tough. Did a breakfast run in the beginning of May and that was alot of fun but not much else. That being said I was fortunate enough to experience the BMW M Intensive driving course a week back in Kyalami and it was fantastic! I have now completed 2 of these courses(M Advanced and M Intensive) and it really builds confidence and its amazing what these cars can do and the limits you can push them to.
Thankfully, we do not have any plans until the long weekend in June so trying my best to keep it that way so I can get to enjoy my weekend toy a bit. I also managed to get some cosmetic mods done and think I am not completed/done with the front end. I was never a fan of the honeycomb vents in the front bumper. I felt like BMW chose the cheap and easy route and could have made it look much better, like the CSL. So I did just that! Ordered the CSL style air vent covers. So to me, if I was gonna do the air vent covers and already had the lip in carbon, why not do the grill at the same time? I really did not want to make the car look like a CSL when it is not, but saying that I really like the look of the CSL grill compared to all the other options available. So what do I do....well I did this 👇👇👇👇

Went with the CSL grill minus the red outline and think it fits well with the front end and the look I was trying to achieve....
So now I am done with the front end and really liking the end result.
The other thing that bugged me a bit was how tucked in the wheels looked and while doing some online window shopping saw that Evolve Automotive had a sale on their spacer kits for the G8x series and and ordered a set, 12mm in front and 15mm in the rears.
Was amazed how quick they arrived, ordered on a Monday and delivered on the Thursday of the same week.
Subtle difference but makes a huge difference...the pics dont do it justice but hopefully gives an idea...

I have felt no difference in ride quality, although to be honest I dont think the 8 min drive from the wheel shop home was a good test, but where I could get a bit heavy footed on the pedal, I did and it felt the same.
So now that the front end is sorted, have a couple things planned for the rear in the next month or 2. For now I just want to enjoy the car and put mileage on it.![]()
The grill replacement solution is a must it seems. Through who did you order and the cost? Have you thought of a rear wing..I think this is also a necessity now.
Thanks Bro... 🙏I love the spoiler
Definitely needs to be lower - if you have not already fitted the ACS springs, look into the M Performance HAS kit. I have that on my F90. The labour to fit is roughly the same. Not sure about price delta now - it was going to be R16K fitted vs R20K fitted at the time, so the springs made no sense when I looked into them. I found in the past with springs they are either too aggressive or not aggressive enough for what I am after. Sounds from your description of having to be goaded into lowering the car you may be in the same camp as me![]()
Ill be going with HAS kit very soon, I saw a few pics on the BMW USA forums cars are looking good with HAS kits. Thanks Bro... 🙏
I did not consider the HAS kit, but will look into it now, have not fitted the springs as yet as waiting for them to arrive at the dealer, so guess there is still time to change if I decide to go the HAS route.
Unfortunately the M performance HAS kit is around 40k now fitted….a huge difference in price compared to just springs, but it is the right way to go no doubt.I love the spoiler
