I have been researching the crap out of this car so have a really good idea of what to look for and what maintenance I plan to do as soon a I find a good example. However I need some guidance as to where to find the needed parts.

A quick Google search throws Beeline Spares and they seems to sell a lot of the parts but was wondering if you guys have any other places that you have found to be cheaper/better.

Also in terms of after market mods such as Down Pipes, Charge Pipe, FMICs, and so on - Who's the go to in South Africa?

I am based in Durban so local would be a bonus

Honestly, if your opening message about an N54 powered car is looking for cheaper, then im concerned this may not be the platform for you. if your research has shown you anything, it would have shown you proper maintenance is key with this motor. (Injectors, HPFP, Sensors, etc etc).

In terms of Mods, @FiRi@Rennzport would be one of your first choices, however there are loads of places online, and more if you're willing to import. The way the N54 scene is going, most of the cars are clapped out, aiming for horsepower over maintenance.

Doing your due diligence and finding a clean one, and keeping it maitainned before going for mods will help you keep the car in great shape and treat for well for years to come.

I see N54 attached to words like cheaper/better and then see a follow-up of mods and all I can think of is a bad wet dream.
I have been researching the crap out of this car
Youtube search history:

n54 e92 burnout
n54 e92 cheap and easy mods
n54 e92 vs M3
n54 e92 vs the world
n54 e92 turbo flutter (followed by blank off caps from Builders)

Just having some fun here ;) but, on a serious note. As @General.Massacre mentioned, your first and only priority should be a clean find with maintenance as the main focus. Everyone wants a nice sounding beast that can pull a skirt faster than the Cape Southeaster but little to none know how to take care of them.
