technical Water Pumps | Will and F series N55 fit an E series N55?

Does anyone know if a water pump from an N55B30O0 fits an N55B30M0?

I would say that it would. As far as I understand it, the difference in the N55 variants are internal, cast vs forged crankshafts, heads - open vs closed deck, etc. A comparison of water pump part numbers should give you the answer you're looking for.

The parts are different, with the N55B30O0 having an all metal pump vs the N55B30M0 having the one with half plastic, half metal:

Seems there are actually quite a few differences between the two if you look at the plug and bold locations.

Any experience with non-OEM pumps by chance?

Only the M235i came with a forged crankshaft along with the M2 if i remember well. Not really worthwhile as the Cast cranks are being put throgh 800whp and not breaking which is way past what anyone would push an N55 to. All are open deck also.

No personal experience as mine hasnt gone yet but I have considered getting aftermarket ones with lifetime warranty. If it fails then you can just get a replacement from the manufacturer like with the fuel pumps like Dorch etc. But if you will seeling the car before 100k km there is no point, just get the BMW one. It is still a good pump.

My car has ~140k Kms, and not really looking to sell any time soon.

Nice, I am almost on 110 and looking to cross 200 hence why I was looking at this stuff. I tried looking for them on NVperformance. They had them on their site but can't find them now. Best to give them a call or SRS and Xflow. They would know the pumps that come with the lifetime warranty.
