technical E90 central locking issue - fuses ok, suspect FRM?

Hi All,

For some weird reason the forum search pulled up zero hits on 3 series central locking problems ; So please feel free to reprimand me if there are existing posts on this issue and accept my apologies in advance.

Anyway, I have an 2009 325i LCI E90 and the central locking is fubar. 1. Keyfob not working, 2. Key in driver door not working, and 3. button on the dash not working. No noises, No response, No fook all....

Is the assumption correct that the FRM is toast or could there be other checks I could do? As mentioned fuses are all good.

I thank you for your patience and wisdom in your response.

Many Thanks,
Clintie

Hallo, FRM usually has signs of lights staying on, windows not working, but car still drives, locks. This was my experience when FRM module was an issue. Not sure if your's might also be the case.

Check those fuses again, they may look good to the eye but have failed and only a tester can confirm this for you. Your problem sounds both power and actuator related. The E90 is a fuss pot, we all know that. I had an issue with the driver side actuator some time back and was able to lock it manually for while until it gave up entirely and I had to replace the actuator.
