Shew I love this even more then the X3.

Big and brute design. Some design cues from the e60 headlights which I dig as well....

Can't wait to see it in the flesh.

Nobody said you can't love it LOL. The whole point is to share opinons.

As I said, I like the front. I've had time for it to grow on me since I go to see the 5ers any time I am at BMW (trying to imagine what the G90 would be like LOL). In terms of their recent cars, THIS is something I can see growing on everyone (vs. the M2,3,4). they are in the stride of this 'polarising' design language and the pendulum is in the middle (for me).

The bit that is meh is the back which could be any car from any brand and everyone knows what I think of these slabbed screen interiors. For the X3 BMW decided to use the worst possible combination of grille/interior for the launch pics. There are plenty of subsequent pics that look much much better (there is no saving me from the screens though).

I do want to drive the G90 though. Very clear that you can't trust what the reviewers and influencers are saying. If these paid shills are being 'tepid' in their coverage of the weight it must be absolutely abysmal.

The Bowser look can work (as it does on the X1).

Someone's order just arrived. View attachment 25278

Im sure this car is brought in for Mfest. Order books have opened and delivery is expected around July 2025. I was keen on frozen dark grey (+R75k option) with kyalami orange interior. But I don't know... the whole order process is kak. No exclusivity in it. Dealers send you an email saying you've been allocated a unit, pay a deposit to secure and choose colors.

Different story if they invited you to private test and experience of the car pictured above... that would have convinced me to commit to a purchase

Exact price is R2.695m on standard colors. BMW SA build n price for the G90 had an error last time I checked. So no selectable options right now other than special colors.

I got invited to a private test of the car above by BMW SA not the dealer. They are arranging these to happen after M Fest. Maybe they are still getting through the list. I am not sure what triggered it but the dude knew I was looking to extend plan and had bought 2 M5s from dealers before. They didn’t seem to care about us peasant second owners (or long term owners) in the past (I was not even invited to the M2 CS auction let alone to hear/see anything about the M5 CS 😂) but maybe they are casting the net wide.

Dealers will try to get you into a 2.7m car like you’re buying a Toyota Hilux just cos it’s on the floor. BMW’s client experience these days (servicing as well) is not for me, and doesn’t match the price tag of their cars any longer, but I will drive the G90 and I’m open to it changing my preconceptions. I am just more now in the headspace of keeping my low mileage F90 and buying something special.

“Dealers will try to get you into a 2.7m car like you’re buying a Toyota Hilux . . . “
Oh man oh man, there was a time when this statement was self-explanatory. Gone are even those days, even for the humble Hilux. I mean even the people’s car (Polo Vivo) is now a 3 month masters research project before you can remotely figure out exactly what you are getting with each trim and at what price.

Saw the new M5 at the dealer yesterday and I must say I am pleasantly surprised. It is subtle enough for me but has little hints of monster here and there.

And yes, the infotainment screen is ridiculous.

And the price, well, that's many bridges too far for me.
