Update 13:

Unfortunately, a few weeks back, I got into a bit of a boo boo. Drove over a lock nut left in the middle of the road which took out my front left tyre and made a dent in my rim.

Oddly, when the insurer tried to replace my wheel from Mercedes, they were told that these wheels were not manufactured anymore, which meant I had to find a full replacement set 🙃

Work carried out by panel beater (Gordon Cumming Body Repairs)

- Replaced left front axle flange (as a precautionary measure)
- Replaced left front tyre
- Installed a new "Alignment Kit" (installed at my local Mercedes Benz)
- Alignment (x3)

Fortunately, there was no other damage and I was paid out for my damaged rim. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at how meticulous the body shop was at getting the car back to 100%. The alignment was done three times - first at the tyre shop, then body shop and lastly at Mercedes where the alignment kit was installed.

Wheels were sourced from VAG Motorsport. Malcolm was quick, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. It took about a week and a half to get the wheels shipped to my door from IW in the UK.

New wheel & tyre specs:

Front - 19 x 8.5 ET45 "Performance Concave" (235/35/19) w/ 6mm spacers
Rear - 19 x 9.5 ET45 "Deep Concave" (255/30/19)

Wheel colour - Carbon Grey Brushed

OEM wheel & tyre specs:

Front - 19 x 8 ET45 (235/35/19)
Rear - 19 x 9 ET54 (255/30/19)

Prior to fitting the wheels, I got them polished and ceramic coated by DCM Auto Detailer (Damian Martin).

Also got Damian to do the following:

- Premium wash
- Full car clay barred
- Full car waxed
- Headlights polished and ceramic coated
- Taillights polished and ceramic coated
- Engine bay cleaned and treated
- Exhaust tips polished and ceramic coated
- Interior cleaned and leather treated

Quite chuffed with how the car is looking. Considering a set of lowering springs in the future but seeing as I use the car daily, I'm a bit hesitant for now.

Update 14: Oil Service (111 361 km)

Took the car to Berea Motors Workshop (BMW) to get the following done:

- Oil service (OEM oil and oil filter)
- Full inspection of suspension and undercarriage
- Alignment

For peace of mind, I got Sebastiaan from BMW to do a full inspection of the suspension and undercarriage to make sure there was no other damage from the incident. I did notice that the rear right wheel was slightly pushed out compared to the rear left. This was caused by the camber, caster and toe settings which were incorrect. Additionally, the car was checked for any leaks or areas of concerns. Glad to report that all is in proper working order.

Over the weekend, while taking a Sunday cruise, I bumped into my grandson doing some testing lol

I must say that it looks the part - understated yet menacing, especially from the front.

However, when it comes to the sound department...it's another story 💀

Took part in my first drag event this past Sunday. Was proper fun and will definitely look into participating at more of these events.

In terms of preparation, I just threw in some Liqui Moly Octane Plus and dropped the tyre pressures. Highlight of my day was running this Solarbeam Yellow AMG GTS.
