Dekra is mostly cleanWhat does the Dekra report say?
Then you likely only read the summary. Judging by the comments and pictures, there is a reason this car ended up at WBC.Dekra is mostly clean
Agree with you here. The comments alone without seeing the car should tell you to rather walk away and pay more for a better example. Then you likely only read the summary. Judging by the comments and pictures, there is a reason this car ended up at WBC.
I'm going to assume you've never owned a M car before so you're not aware of M tax? It's been said before, you will likely need to double your initial budget of R70k to get the car risk free. I would suggest you read up more on these platforms.
If all the sage advice is not to your liking, take the gamble and let us know how it goes.
Well there you go.For me, any car with a 'partial service history' is a no go. The below comment also sounds scary
Major paint damage and/or signs of major paint rectification on multiple body panels.
a Dekra report from WBC isnt worth the paper its printed on.Dekra is mostly clean
I see it mostly as a guideline. One still need to do your due diligence and this report is not clean either.a Dekra report from WBC isnt worth the paper its printed on.

Ive taken my scan tool to every BMW ive ever been interested in,ALWAYS BEEN WANTING TO ASK - Do they (WBC) allow potential customers to scan cars for codes?
Well if they listing it as an E46, tht would tell you they havent put much effort into this, like the above post says, go see it in person.
From the Dekra Report, id honeslty say, apart from the tyres, it looks in pretty good condition, i do see some flow marks on the sump, but that could be from water and seepage/sweat over time and its stained it, bu i dont see signs of a bad leak anywhere,
The only other problem i can see, is that its a convertiblebut thats personal preference hahaha. go see it in person, go for a test drive, and try take some one with you that may have a wifi adaptor to check codes with MHD or Protool, or any other portable diagnostic device. dont just rely on what they give you.
Check codes, then clear the codes, then go for a drive, when warm enough then give the car a bit of a push, when you get back, re-scan for codes and see if anything has come up after the drive, that will be a good indication.
