This Is a nice shape (specifically the M-Sport version), saw one the other day, everything is in sync (from rear bumper to side skirt to front, etc).

I’d advise to go for 335i ….lots more power than 320i, but you need to tell us what you will be using the car for etc so we gain more understanding of your needs.

I would suggest you look at any other model besides the 320i. They have a reputation for issues and they aren't the quickest either.
Agree.
325i is also a better bet than the 320i, though not as quick as 335i.

320i E92, especially at JHB altitude, is a 10 secs 0-100kph car. If getting away from Polo TSIs is not a concern, then no worries

I like the 335, I’ve got a 235 rn that’s going next week, I’m not particularly worried about speed because it’s gonna be my daily car to save fuel and what not, that’s why I want the 320.

Trying to think of a single redeeming quality of that engine, can’t.

E92 is a great platform, but don’t get it with that engine. 325i will do.

I had a 320 a few years back and I loved it.

Do you rate the 325 will be stronger? (Reliability wise)

You won't save much fuel efficiency with Auto 320i.. I share sentiments with the other guys..

Maybe consider a 120d coupe in auto.. Your budget is decent enough for that, alternatively 325i or 335i..

The E90/92 320i is not that efficient compared to other motors in the line up. Also, they tend to be more unreliable and cost more to maintain than the 320d (sadly, none in E92 Coupe share).

I figure that if you can get an E92 320i at a significant low price, so you can budget for maintenance and fuel, then it would be a good choice. But, if the car is priced at the same level as a 320d E90 of similar mileage, then there is no contest.

Some good viewpoints on this forum, so open to correction

@MR_Y In fact OP's budget can get him a 330d, though hard to find..

Thanks @MR_Y, appreciate the input!

I’ll give the 320d a look but I’m more comfortable in the coupe, also much prefer the way it looks and how I feel inside it

With regards to the consumption even if it’s not thaaat efficient it’s still way better than my car when I’m driving nicely lolol my 235i gets about 12.5l/100km (I can’t remember exactly but it’s around 12.5)

I spotted a pre facelift model 320i with 140k km for under R160k + it has nav and I’d be getting an aftermarket motor/service plan and I’ve got some change to keep for when I really need to repair something, Idk what do you rate? It seems to be in pretty good condition but that’s just from pictures and pictures lie a lot of the time, I’m going to look at it properly on Monday

I didn’t come across many 325i’s and the ones that I saw were pretty cheap but the mileage was around 190k or over 200k

The boy racer part of me is saying get a 335 but that will just make me flat broke lmao

Have Considered the 1 series coupe but it’s a little small for me inside

A manual 325i won’t be bad….manuals are much more fuel efficient than Autos in these cars.

Buddy has an e88 120i with the same engine. Currently averages around 11l/100km. Power is quite disappointing as well. I would also advise a 325 or a 120d. I have one and the car is surprisingly spacious. Fits 4 average sized guys without anyone feeling cramped or uncomfortable
