Gents.

Plan to swap out my water pump. Currently got close to 100 000 km on it.

BMW running a special on pumps at R 6210
GW at R5800.

BMW or OEM? Is it worth the extra to get the BMW badge on the pump?

Full prices from BMW FYI:
Pump: 6210
Bolts: 155
Therm: 1380
Total: 7745

Just for info, the one I got from GW in June this year for my E90 330i was R5195.00 and came with the aluminium bolts in the box. I very much doubt there is any difference at all (both Pierburg). I guess it's not impossible that the BMW ones may be made to different specs, but I think it's unlikely.

I also do agree.
Highly unlikely that Pierburg would make it differently then the once supplied to BMW.

Autozone, but make sure its the Pierburg make, the lesser quality is cheaper

I’m looking to replace my waterpump for the n52b25a with the pierburg one from autozone as well, I was wondering what your experience with it was given that it’s been a few years since this thread’s been up? Should I just get the BMW one instead?

If you intend holding on to the car, just buy from BMW
