So... here are some arbitrary aesthetic updates I have done...

I've named this thread "Arb Aesthetics - 1", because it is likely to continue....

1. 3rd Brake Light replacement.

Thanks to a certain young 'chop' i.e. my son... I had to replace the cracked 3rd brake light...

Cracked light...

You have to remove 3 of these things that hold the light in place...

Once you remove the light, make sure you clean the area properly, so the new light can seat well...

The old and new lights...

And the new light in place...

Now just to get a new tube for the garage flourescent lights - it's so damn dark in here!

2. New matte black ///M grill

After trying plastidip on the front grills, which looked cool - but didn't last too long because of the beating they get out front, I opted to rather buy some pre-painted with ///M colour grills from eBay... under R1,000 and arrived in 2 weeks to the day from Taiwan...

Apparently the box is also made in Taiwan...

Everything was super neatly packaged... with obligatory free USB light...

And installed... I am a happy camper!

nicely done

Do you have a pic further back - would like to see how the grills look on the car

Where did you source it from if you don't mind sharing info?

Aesthetics improvement continued...

After wanting to do this for a long time, I finally dropped off my Z4 at Frasers (YCE) to redo my front bumper.

The front bumper really had a LOT of chips and road rash and was showing signs of a serious need for some loving. My concern was always who could I trust to leave her with, and who would do a good job. Based on all the reviews and pics, I knew there was only one person and one place - Fraser.

The before Pics: (I am ashamed of these)...

I hope that silver is not paint on your new black kidneys! :cartel:

Looks really good. I suggest VPS to protect the new paint from stonechips in the future.

Car is coming along nicely!

Now the new paint makes all the black trim look aged, it never ends...lol

However, I would have not accepted my car back from a panel shop with panel gaps like that. Also, what the hell did they do to your bonnet badge? Remove it with a crowbar?

Actually, bonnet is not closed properly in the pic - hence the gap. The work done is actually really good. I can't complain...

The bonnet badge is courtesy of a certain driver that was busy on her phone and backed into me while standing at a traffic light. No amount of hooting made her aware of the fact that she was rolling back. Said driver had no licence and no plate - and eventually just buggered off. This was also the reason for deciding the front bumper redo was necessary...

New bonnet badge is on it's way...

So, a recent quick trip to the US afforded me the opportunity to buy a few goodies on eBay and have them delivered to my hotel...

Item number 1: LED light strip for the boot (trunk)...

eBay ref

This gives a nice bright white light in the boot... and isn't a crappy yellowish light that is blocked by anything in the boot...

Item number 2: Interior LED lights...

eBay ref

This gives a nice 'modern' white light look in the interior, instead of an 'aged' yellowish light...

Small changes... not to everyone's taste and of which I will take a pic this evening to show the effect... but I like it!

:tiptoe:

Item number 3: New D2S lights...

eBay ref

Got some new globes, and will replace the old ones at some stage. Probably an unnecessary purchase for now... but thought what the hell...

 what a great idea to get it delivered to the Hotel, postal service works everywhere else in the world - Africa forget about it.
Dont forget to post pics
