The roof on my e85 is slowly dying. It opens fine but is very slow to close and getting slower. I believe from reading that the entire roof needs to come off and that it is most like the hydraulic hinges or whatever they are called. I believe there is one for open and one for close. Who in Joburg is qualified to do this work. Anybody know?

Not sure about Jhb but we have an absolute legend when it comes to convertible roofs in Durban - Adam from Window Master. Maybe contact him on 084 786 4500 and check if he can refer you to someone or if he is coming up to Jhb at some point.

Just had my roof mechanism fixed at wynberg motor trimmers (it wasn't sluggish but would randomly fail to open). I was fairly sure it was a switch or hydraulic issue so I was somewhat concerned when they kept talking about the sagging fabrics affecting the mechanism. However, in retrospect I do think they know what they're talking about and the issue is fixed.

Wynberg Auto Trimmers. They have been in business' for longer than most forum members have been alive. They have the expertise to sort it since their bread and butter is softtop replacements and redoing the interior properly. Get ready for 10-20k and just pony up and pay.
