Z4 M Coupe Exhaust Options?

Schnitzer sounds best on the S54 in my opinion. Least buzz or rasp. (Rasp is good...too much rasp is annoying).

Remus boxes will be your closest alternative, they manufacture for Schnitzer. Deon at REMUS SA [email protected]

I hear you... but from what I have researched, everyone says that Remus is very similar to stock, which in my mind defeats the point a bit. I want to notch it up a few.. :)

Even Schnitzer isn't very much louder. Deeper, slightly bassier. Not by much, just a quality sound.

Guess it depends on what sound you prefer.

Agreed. Hence leaning towards Diablo (louder, but also quality good low bass sound) or the PRI's (Much louder, supposedly good low sound, but a bit of drone?) - as opposed to any of the other options - which may sound good, but are seemingly not much louder than stock...

What did you end up going with?

I bought a set of OEM back boxes to do the OEM exhaust mod and also made a set of straight pipe rear exhausts with monster tips, this sounds rally car loud though. Sounds insane at full tilt, drones in normal driving. I'm going to sell it off as I'll be doing the OEM straight pipe mod.

I haven't had a chance to do anything as yet, but I am leaning towards biting the bullet and ordering a set of RPI's... will hopefully be the right decision. But if it is anything like the outcome of the new exhaust on the bike, then I know I will be happy! Smiles for miles!

Go for Ac Schnitzer if you like to keep things oem but tmss is a good local option as there a lot of people who recommended them , you have an M car go for the best

I have a custom set of 'straight pipes' with resonators.
It's damn loud, took it off a few days later.
Still have it in the garage.

Did the OEM exhaust mod, very happy with the result.
Ie. cut open OEM boxes and replaced the perforated S-bends with perforated straight pipes.

Spray the boxes black while you're at it and replace the tips if you're into that (or leave stock for the OEM look).

I have made up my mind to get the RPI's. Decided rather go big or go home. Just wrapping up some last other fixes/maintenance on the car, and then will go ahead. Definitely this year still. Hopefully in the next two months or so, time permitting.

I will update my posts once I order, and then get and then fit!

:smilebounce:

What you planning on doing?

Waiting for Deon from Remus to get back to me... apparently Remus don't make the Z4 M Coupe exhausts anymore due to low global demand (good for the resale value) but bad for mods...

Need to contact TMSS to see what they have/ could do...

I'm def leaning towards bolt-on + off...

I also prefer the bolt on and off option. Minimally invasive, easily reversible, etc...

Will be interesting to see what price range TMSS comes in at. Fuel in Randburg said I could expect something in the region of R22k for a locally developed option similar to the RPI... for that price, I may as well import the RPI, which is what I decided to do.

Good luck and keep us updated on your side!

Will post updates once they do!

Holding thumbs it was the right decision!

Awesome..... Where did you buy them from?

Did you buy the RPI intake scoop too?

Ordered from RPI themselves. Dealt with their sales guy Ben. I did not order the intake!
