Z4 E85 restoration / maintenance

I've decided I'm going to keep my 2004 Z4 Roadster E85 3.0i auto for a while longer. It needs a fair amount of work which I'll have to do.

Most important is the Control arms and shocks. What do you guys recommend that is good value for money but good performance as well? I'm in JHB. Considering coil-overs but I fear the price might make me change my mind.

Also planning to do the following:
- Transmission oil and filter
- Aftermarket vanos seals
- DISA rebuild
- Bonnet hood shocks
- Cooling hoses
- Brake fluid bleed
- Steering column lube
- Oil level sensor
- A bunch of other minor stuff and cosmetics
- Non runflat tyres

I've already done:
- Brake disks and pads
- Sway bar links
- Tie rod ends
- Engine mounts
- Sump gasket (holy crap that was a mission)
- Oil filter housing gasket
- Valve cover gasket
- Serpentine belt plus AC belt
- Wheel bearings

Not bad for a IT worker hey?

Anyway, if you have any advice, tips, tricks, places where I could source the stuff more cheaply than please let me know. I am only interested in quality products though, I don't want to put on cheap stuff that is unsafe or inferior quality. I am a beginner at this, so anything will help. I'll post some pics of my work if anyone is interested.

Essentially I just need to know for now which control arms I should go for. I purchased some from Goldawagen previously and they didn't last long unfortunately, can't remember if they were Meyl or Febi. So I do want something decent.

Lemforder will last...

Thanks, any idea where to get them? BMW I assume?
Try Goldwagon or Imcomex.

I'm surprised the Meyle Stuff failed you... I've had good experiences with MeyleHD parts.

We fitted Bilstein shocks in PLV's car and they were nice... worth looking into if you doing shocks...

Thanks I'll contact them and get quotes. I need to confirm the brand I installed.

Regarding shocks, I'll consider the Bilstein, heard they're good. Was also considering some KW coilovers, but they are quite pricey and I'm not sure its a wise move from a cost/benefit point of view.

Bilstein FTW. You cant go wrong there.

The Installed the Meyle Parts on all my past and present E46s and Never had an issue with it.. Bad batch maybe?

if you want adjustability of the suspension then you can look at BC racing coilivers too. I'm running them on my m coupe for over a year now and they decent... was under 15k for my car, comes with top mounts and stabalizer end links too. works well on the track also...

Thanks! I will def check them out. Seriously thinking about coilovers. I'm not really phased by the hard ride (evident by my choice in car). I will likely change the tyres out for non run flats though, I think they'll be better overall (as well as saving on cost).
