I've decided I'm going to keep my 2004 Z4 Roadster E85 3.0i auto for a while longer. It needs a fair amount of work which I'll have to do.
Most important is the Control arms and shocks. What do you guys recommend that is good value for money but good performance as well? I'm in JHB. Considering coil-overs but I fear the price might make me change my mind.
Also planning to do the following:
- Transmission oil and filter
- Aftermarket vanos seals
- DISA rebuild
- Bonnet hood shocks
- Cooling hoses
- Brake fluid bleed
- Steering column lube
- Oil level sensor
- A bunch of other minor stuff and cosmetics
- Non runflat tyres
I've already done:
- Brake disks and pads
- Sway bar links
- Tie rod ends
- Engine mounts
- Sump gasket (holy crap that was a mission)
- Oil filter housing gasket
- Valve cover gasket
- Serpentine belt plus AC belt
- Wheel bearings
Not bad for a IT worker hey?
Anyway, if you have any advice, tips, tricks, places where I could source the stuff more cheaply than please let me know. I am only interested in quality products though, I don't want to put on cheap stuff that is unsafe or inferior quality. I am a beginner at this, so anything will help. I'll post some pics of my work if anyone is interested.
