Z3 Space Saver Tyre Replacement

Anyone replaced their biscuit tyres on their Z3?

I dropped mine out to check it after purchasing and while the tyre has never been used it is 22 years old and brittle.

My local tyre shop says they cant / wont replace space saver tyres while Continental don't have stock of that size and BMW Cape Town don't even have it on their system

The recommended option was to replace it with a 17" version from a newer BMW which should be a very similar size ratio.

Any advice?

Sadly both Fundi & Tyres.co.za are out of stock and Errol's does not keep the size needed.

I have contacted Continental directly and they dont have stock in the country nor have shipped recently to any outlet sadly. Hence looking to see if anyone has replaced with a 17" version
