Z3 MCoupe AC Schnitzer

Dean ///M

Limited Profile
Did anyone get any V Box results/improvements just with a decat sections on a Z3/Z4MC. I want to decat my Z4M but only if it's worth it. Best 0-100 5.17s - KZN,with OE tyres. We have a Sav Speed Z3M locally but the guy removed the Perfect Power & i think fitted Dicktator 530whp, an awesome machine. No times yet as he drag races his Uno Turbo(only) with Twincam motor 11.8@191 so far.

hi there i wonder if anyone car help,im stuck between buying a e46 m3 and a m coupe, now i just wana know,is the e46 m3 and the m coupe's diff the same because ive got a e46 m3 quaife lsd,and i wana know if it will fit in the m coupe?ive already got all my parts to turbo the beast, turbo manifold custom intake intercooler,etc...just need a turbo,so one more thing is the standard m coumpe lsd strong enough for turbo charging?:dunno::banghead:

James, just so you know... there are two engines in the MCoupes. The 99 and 2000 models have the engine out the E36 M3 2001 and 2002 have the S54 E46 M3 engine.

I am not sure about the diff though... will be strong enough... But read up on subframe issues with Coupes as you will need to reinforce the subframe if you are going for massive turbos.

If its the S54 everything that goes on the E46 engine will fit (may need some plumbing changes). Custom manifold may be an issue for clearances, again do some research. I would suggest the bimmerforum Mcoupe forum.

:bangdesk::argh:

work has blocked the images:(

Best way to check if it is one of the 35 is if it has ACschnitzer mags and chrome rings around the headlights.

40 were shipped to SA 35 sold. So I accume that 5 went beyond our borders or australia.

I am told that the S50 engine is more reliable than the S54... Comments?

I am no expert on the S50 but the S54 is a very reliable lump. Especially considering it is the highest NA output to displacement of any production engine (it should still be) and alot of them are pushing 10 years (like mine).

The only issue with these engines is the bearing shells that are known to spin and can wreck an engine... this was a recall that skipped the S54s in the MCoupe due to a lower rev limit.

No other known issues. Maybe the Vanos seal that is a problem with any vanos engine including the S50.

I can see the pictures now... OK first off it looks like a S54 ACS. BUT the kidhey grill does not have chrome on the leading edge. This reminds me of a Cape Town black ACS that bust a grill just over a year ago. Probably replaced with non-standard bits. Maybe it is that car sold on. Laguna Seca interior on a black car would be un-usual.

A friend of mine had a black ACS with the blue/black interior. They sold it many years ago. Perhaps it's the same car.

that black/LSB car is the same one that was used in the mag article, its the only black/LSB S54 in SA, so likely to be the same one that all of the above have mentioned!!!

I've wanted one of these since school days (I'm pretty sure I even had a poster or cutout of an 1999 S50 on my wall at some stage) and now there is finally one in the garage!

Flew down to Cape Town and drove it up to Durbs over the weekend. Using all the back roads, it was awesome

2002, Titanium Silver, Imola Red / Black interior. 42400km (now 44k+).

I can't get over how compact this little beast is. It's also amazing how much it smoothed out and opened up during the trip, a bit of open road can do wonders. I'll be sending it to BMW for a full inspection and service and then it will be used sparingly and stroked frequently.
