Because you sit almost on the back axel the ride does feel different under cornering. I have had the nose break free on some tight corners, but it is easily managed, just a bit off the accelerator and she corrects. Also have experienced some light swaying under long high speed sweeping corners, but was alone in car so it could be weight distribution. The brakes does need some mods for sure. The car handles much better than the 330I sportspack.

High speed is also not fun... over 220 it starts getting abit light at the nose.

Brakes are very sharp on mine, maybe just a more heat tolerant compound. I cooked the pad the first time on the track, maybe the DSC help with that.

I don't think its the size or the power of the brakes that is a problem. I found even on the track the brakes are more than adaquate to pull up the car, problem is that the pad compound on teh standard pad are not up too the job.

I have been looking up powerbrake pads. They make a road/track pad. Remember track pads operate at a higher temp than normal brakes and will be dangerous when cool and noisy. The other option is to get a set of pads for the track / when you want to thrash around and a set of road pads.

Power brake aslo do a grooved disc that fits the M coupe. This conversion has been done to a Cape Town Schnitzer Ed.

My dad's got a black one with 60k on the clock, but he is refusing to sell it to me! It's absolutely mint...the first owner took the Schnitzer rims off and put standard rims on it. He only put the Schnitzers back on it the other day and they are brand spanking new. He said I could have the Schnitzer Z4, but I will have to wait until his final breath for the Z3...it's such a shame, because it's just sitting in the garage collecting dust...[/size]

Ah... I think your Dad snapped this one out from under my nose... did he get it at Executive Cars by any chance?

Yes, that's where he bought it as far as I can remember...BMW had to replace the Vanos under warranty shortly after he bought it.

I will never forget my first experience riding in an M Coupe. My dad's first one was a new 1999 Evergreen M Coupe and I had to sit in the boot when he took it for a test drive because the salesman refused to stay behind...haha! I just remember the bike that struggled to get away from us...think it was a GSXR600...and I'm sure the saleman left a few skidmarks behind...I wouldn't mind getting hold of that evergreen Coupe...it was a real eye catcher!

Evergreen is rare... might be this car? Been for sale for ever.

Mileage too high on that...but I guess you'll struggle to find a car of that age with low mileage. I know a doctor bought the one my dad had.

I saw a white M coupe on autotrader with 32k on the clock, but that went as soon as the ad went live...

That's the one...just spoke to my dad who confirmed it. It's got 66k on the clock now and he had the original M Coupe rims refurbed the other day, so they are as good as new too...Ahmed's car just out of reach for me and the mileage a bit high, but as I said before, doubt that you'll ever find one with low mileage...

Someone mentioned on here that the 32000k was a fixed ODO.

The problem is that its too easy now to fix an ODO and what does km really mean? If you have a car that is 10years old and did 32000km it has been under used. And I know someone that can f :censored: k a car in 5km vs. another friend that had a 320,000km e36 motorsport that looked like it had come out the box yesterday. I would not be too worried about km. I would say 100,000km is a healthy km for a 10 year old car. And definitely vs. the price premium you pay for a low km car. Remember a infrequently driven car is just as bad as an abused car.

That car used to belong to a friend of ours. He sold it with 42k km and I guess that new owner sold it to your father via Executive Toys.

My car is sitting on 25,000km now.

Way to few kms:nono: You need to drive it more;)

Mine currently does about 3000km/ year. Its been standing now for 5 months. I was wondering if you had picked up any problems related to it standing? I am getting worried about mine, appart from being covered, battery monitor and rolled every month it does nothing for 2 month streaches usually.

Mine gets started and driven at least once every 3-5 weeks typically. I try to once a week, but due to time constraints it's difficult to.

It does get flat spots in the tyres if the car is not moved every month. So I over inflate them to try avoid this from occurring.

hi there i wonder if anyone car help,im stuck between buying a e46 m3 and a m coupe, now i just wana know,is the e46 m3 and the m coupe's diff the same because ive got a e46 m3 quaife lsd,and i wana know if it will fit in the m coupe?ive already got all my parts to turbo the beast, turbo manifold custom intake intercooler,etc...just need a turbo,so one more thing is the standard m coumpe lsd strong enough for turbo charging?:dunno::banghead:

Just my thoughts as i'm no expert but i think the only e46 thing on the schnitzer M coupe was the engine.Other than that i'm sure that most of the Mcoupe(ACS & Non ACS) was based on the E36/37/38 stuff.:dunno:

I do stand to be corrected.....:hammerhead:

On the turbo side,I'm pretty sure that the Standard M coupe diff should be able to handle a turbo.....however:thinking:

I do stand to be corrected.:hammerhead:

I'm pretty sure someone with more knowledge on your question will answer shortly....
