I know the feeling - that's how the 330i found its way into my garage!

The mileage is high, not so much for the engine I think - gearbox maybe and then other mechanical bits. Suspension on the E46 I gather has a few flaws in terms of lifespan of certain parts - usually easily enough to detect by noises made and so on. Interior and exterior are pretty durable like with most BMs, especially if looked after.

I personally have always had a major crush on the E46 330i! And my aim was to find a low-ish mileage with a manual gearbox, but they aren't easy to find, especially in one's area.

I'd say keep looking though, and test drive thoroughly - helps to have an extra pair of eyes (and ears) to help spot or even hear the odd thing out of place...

2001 e46 330i is the pre-facelift model, so my 325i with the AC Schnitzer will eat it for lunch, and also mine only has 86,500km on the clock... imp:

Tempting Coisman, very tempting. It seems like you decided on keeping yours though.

Although this 330 is in very good condition, I have decided... Rather the devil you know...

I took The POFS to Zeemax on Saturday, because I was not happy with the fuel consumption, and it was overfuelling like crazy.

Once on diagnostics, the ECU got a operating temp reading of only 63 degrees celcius, instead of 88 degrees.

Turned out the guys that did the rebuild last year, swopped the temp sensor wires around, so even at full operating temperature, the car thought it was running cold, thus upping the fuel mix.

Now the ECU is getting the full 88 degrees reading, so fuel consumption should be way better.

Now to get to grips with the oil usage......

1 litre of oil for every 2000km. That's why I'm doing my nut this whole time.

Just a thought, if it has been overfueling would this not thin the oil and in some way contribute to oil usage? Maybe changing oil and see what it does after that, now that the overfueling is corrected...

Was there 3weeks ago with my E36 318IS for a major service
There labour is quite high,but there service is first class!
And the car past the test,every thing is good!

Will trade the 318 for a 330 anyday!:clap:
