Yellow Malfunction engine

I just returned from holiday, and after unpacking all the luggage I rushed out for another meeting. When I started BMW E90 320i, the yellow engine malfunction light appeared on the dashboard. I was totally shocked and didn't want to drive any further. I parked the car in my garage and rather used my wife's E46. Please help...what can be the cause and how can I fix this. Please if anyone can recommend a reputable BMW mechanic in the northern suburbs of Cape Town

It could be anything.

You will need to get someone to read the codes for whats causing the issue

Get the car looked at and scanned for errors, that is the only way to know for sure. Yellow engine light could mean anything.

Yellow engine light on the E90 320i with a half engine in yellow and other half in black is very common for the valvetronic gear replacement...however best is to get the diagnostics stuck on and read the codes.

P.S. for now you can also look at the owners manula but google is also a good friend to ease your mind for now.
