Good Day, I trust someone can shed some positive light on my issues.
Recently my well beloved first wife, X5 E53, has started giving starting issues, When it's cold in the morning, I have no issues starting up for the first part of my journey, whilst still cold.
Once the car getting hotter as I dive during the day, I have a battle to start. I cranks to the extend where you can acutallu for up the half of the South African Power Grid.
I have had a Mech who has cost me a fortune thus far. I replace the diesel fuel pump, The Solonoid and solonoid.
I had a trip form JHB to Cape Town over the holidays and she behaved until I would stop for a break and allow the car to cool down for at least 30mis to an hour, then she saddles up and starts with about 2-3 cranks.
I have read here that some recommend the cam or crank sendor, others the Knock sensor, yet some say the battery.
Becasue I have already forked out over R15k for I am left with a dire need to have this resolved urgently.
Any advise please?
Thank you.

Hey buds, might be coolant temp sensor, i had the same issue on my previous car. It was an Audi but could still be the same issue.

Your symptoms sound the same as what i experienced.
