I want to change the appearance of the diesel look at the back of my X5 by swopping the standard back boxes of the exhaust with some universal oval silencers with 64mm diameter stainless steel pipes (both sides single in this instance) protruding through the rear bumper as per the V8's. I am thinking straight through but was warned by the exhaust fitment people that it might be noisy. Anyone who has done this conversion that might be able to advise me as to the possible noise levels/droning inside the car at cruising speed?
