X35 FUEL ECONOMY CHALLENGE

Lol thanks bud, car can get more out of a tank problem is my foot is heavy and I can't drive slow for the life of me :biglol:

Thats great milieage also if you take into account that the 135 has a much small fuel tank.

10.5 is not bad and will depend on your mix of trips. On a full long distance run on freeways eg. JHB to DBN is expect that the X35 will see low 8's or even high 7's. The difficulty will be the discipline to keep your right foot from flooring the happy pedal :=):

2011 135i DCT

I see your's is a DCT. I have a manual and have been changing gears at 2500 - 3000 rpm. Maybe that offers some advantage?

My average is 12.4 and I've made peace with it. Even BMW sales people call the 335's 'fuel sippers'. I don't believe anyone can achieve anything below 10 combined. This excludes the F30.

ok so some feedback on my Dbn-GP-Dbn trip this wekend,

Filled up the tank and left durban, car had 2 occupants and 4 bags of every piece of warm clothes we had :flyfun:, cruise control at "140" and i arrived in gp with on an ave consumption of 9.4lt/100, the range showed 67km left with 578kms completed.

the return trip yielded much more favourable results with an ave speed of 125km/h on a 594km journey back, the remaining range on the computer was indicating 216km left for a total usable range of 810km. the ave consumption as per OBC was 7.7lt/100

not bad for a FBO automatic car over the longer trip...

Nice Kish, finding the right speed is also key, my car gives decent consumption at 125km/h but the drive seems too slow....
