I'm thinking of buying either an X1 (2011 Sdrive20d Auto) or X3 (2011 X3 Xdrive20d Auto)

Looking for advice on any Common issues or Stuff i should look out for ?

Also is the Maintenance reasonable on the X series ?

my first suggestion would be to consider an x with the 8spd box, the X1 came with the 8spd from 2012 in the facelift and the X3 was 2014 IIRC.

based on mileage you would want to look at the following;
control arms
dampner pulley
tyres

service history in relation to mileage -
gearbox oil service
diff oil service

The 6 speed boxes weren't problematic,but the 8 speed box is just in a whole different league when it comes to response and shift times etc.

you also want to be looking for the N47T engine (20d) as these arent prone to the timing chain failure...for the X1...only the facelift models (late 2012 models).

However, I believe that the pre-facelift X1 20d that has a build date after 06/2011, have the revised timing chain guides.

I think the 2l diesel X3 also has the 8 speed auto box from 2011 (F25 shape) as my 3ld 2011 X3 has it.

X3 from 2011 the f25 got 8 speed
