Tyres that are not black - either glossy or matt make a clean car just look plain unfinished - also, I have used all brands and the Meguiars is by far the best - does not really wash off in the rain like the rest and its never affected the handling or caused any tyre degradation...

Yep, that tyre gel works really really well!! I don't really think the handling is so much of an issue - well, I apply quite liberally on the sidewalls and work it in nicely with a shoe polish brush, then brush off the excess with water and the brush. Not such a massive fan of bright glossy tyres, so this is why I brush the excess off - the whole idea is to retain the clean black colour and create that water barrier which that tyre gel creates! On the tread patch it clears off after a few turns of the wheel...
