Hi Guys

If I replace my windscreen will i void my motorplan?

I do not want to pay the extra price at BMW so planning to change the windscreen at a mobile operator.

Anyone have a price on a X1 2011 windscreen?

I Had mine replaced and never had an issue....Well they never really checked that.

Make sure it has the BMW logo on it although when i bought my previous car from BMW it just had an sabs stamp and not BMW. It passed motorplan check.

It depends on whether your car has a rain sensor. Apparently the fitment of non original windscreens affects the operation of the rain sensor. You can insist that your insurance company replaces the windscreen with an original part

well its getting fitted soon and currently it does not have a bmw logo on it but only sabs ....

i cant understand why the rain sensor will not work, they use the same sensors.

I had PG auto replace my windscreen, with rain sensor and everything works fine. All you need to do, is make sure they fit a windscreen, that allows for the rain sensor.

i agree, the exact same sensors will be used. the auto glass companies do not supply sensors. The windscreen just needs to have the " cut out" for the sensor.

If the glass is SABS approved then go for it.

i changed the windscreen with a normal SABS approved windscreen not supplied by BMW and the rain and light sensor works fine.

Has this actually happened to anyone???
If so then BMW up is very childish, why can't I replace my windscreen under an insurance claim at a reputable fitment centre??

Changed mine on the M3, used Glasfit and they bought the glass from BMW. Are you paying cash or through insurance?
