Why did I get banned for a day?

Morning fanatics,

So yesterday I was banned and could not access the Forum.

Could one of the forum Administrators/Members please explain why? Want to know if I did something wrong or if someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Lol

As far as I can think, I didn't do anything wrong, Would like to know.

Hi Preshen

There are no records in the logs. When something like this happens it could be because a specific address or range of IP addresses has been banned to combat spam on the forum. If you use a dynamic IP address, you may be allocated one from a banned range for a short period of time.

Posting here instead of on PM so that if other users have the issue in future you can attempt the fix below: You can try to refresh your IP address as follows:

Click Start->Run, type cmd and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /release at the prompt window, press Enter, it will release the current IP configuration.
Type ipconfig /renew at the prompt window, press Enter, wait for a while, the DHCP server will assign a new IP address for your computer.

That is correct. Please refer to the rules, every forum member requires a minimum post count of 100 to be allowed to post an ad.:thumbs:

I am in IT so I do understand what you talking about, I do use a Dynamic IP Address, However I couldn't access it on my phone as well. Weird...

I was on my work WiFi at the time, Different VLANs though.

But now I know, thank you bud.

Just checked admin logs as well. No record of any manual or auto ban, so definitely IP related.

If it happens again, send your IP at the time to [email protected] and I'll see if I can rectify this for you.
