I assume its the standard 5HP30 ?

The problem was that Clutchplate's car is a facelift 99 model and my 7 Series is a pre-faclift 98 model. The gearbox place that I questioned said that the earlier 96-98 model years have 3 connections on the box whereas the 99+ model years have 2. That is why there is a different part number on realoem.com.

Basically the same box (5HP24), just a different way of connecting it to the car. I am sure something could have been hacked, but I was on a tight schedule and needs the car ASAP...

Yea, stuff like that always happens.
When I hit main bearings on the scoobie some years back, I bought a japan import motor, they were identical except for the cabling for coil packs and some other things, so I ended up just using the block and kept my old heads and things.
on my E34 there are two ports right underneath the box on a mounting plate towards the back, I wonder if that is for diagnostics by ZF ? Clutchy's had it too

I think we must keep it for this Sunday at Uber's place. We can do a potjie and braai. Uber will also post something. I'm just not sure about the time.We said that I can make a potjie, and the once coming late or just rocking up, must bring meat for braai. Uber will climb on in a little while with the final arrangemenst.

We will supply some rice as well as some fruit and stuff for pudding.

Did not realise how much there is to actually move in!!! I think when we finally finished getting everything in the house at about 11:30 lastnight it hit me that this weekend is unfortunately going to be spent in the house!
Was really looking forward to meeting you...a fellow 7 driver aswell :thumbsup:

Still checking with peeps though, half my family abandoned me for xmas, so we shall be having xmas with my wife's side for a change.
