Scammers... :argh:

Have a look at the side images of that BMW. One can clearly see from the images that the LHS of the car and the RHS of the car has indeed been in a terrible accident. There is a major panel gap between the LHS rear fender and rear door... There is also a major colour difference between the rear fenders and the rear doors. Im thinking that this car was written off at some stage and someone pulled a few strings at the licensing department. Shame for the new owner...

True. Car belonged to Telesure Group Services, and for those who dont know:

The Damn insurance companies are the culprates. They write our car's off, pay us peanuts, re-sell our cars and recover the money when the car should have been scrapped. Then we get a cleaver Nigerian buys the scrapped car, then repairs the car, gets the papers changed and a poor good citizen gets screwed...

In most 1st world countries, the resale of written-off cars is strictly forbidden. They can only be stripped and sold for parts. We seriously need to catch a wake up here in SA. I'm sick of seeing scams like this and sick of seeing cars crawling sideways on the road because they were cut and joined together with Bostic.

Man I feel so sorry for the chap who bought this car,he has seriously been taken to the cleaners. My wife used to do a lot of work with Telesure group and they are unscrupulous to say the least. The fact that guys are picking up so much wrong with it would seem to point at a) stolen/recovered or b) write-off and rebuild. The guy who bought the car MUST take it up with the CPA guys and get it sorted, otherwise he is R80k (odd) lighter and ripped off. This is not on.

As far as the rebuilding of cars, this is not just a South African issue, apparently a HUGE problem in Europe as well, cos it's easier to move cars through borders and the like because of the freedom of movement in Europe.

My heart goes out to the guy I have to admit.
