Where to start with the 135i N54 mods

He just ordered JB4, waiting for prices on DCI's and down pipes.

interested in the carbon clean,
gonna maybe put in 2 new fresh turbo's and DP's at the same time.

Where's a good dyno to get figures from afterwards in Gauteng area where you guys with N54's have gone?

This is my advice on the n54

Determine what your goal power wise is with your car
, then start building a platform with which you can build on.

Example, if you plan on eventually installing water meth, decide upfront if you want a tune that has built meth integration capability, or if you want to control the meth separately using A stand alone system....similarly you can apply this logic for all the mods you choose for your car

yeah, i hear you, - but that sounds like going farther than what he's wanting. when i first spoke to him he wasnt even looking at hardware... he was just gonna go get a uniQ Chip at dastek and that's it.
_ at least im getting him to throw out the cats and do an intake and get a GOOD "chip" . FMIC too expensive and getting complicated, Water Meth, Definitely a NO... i dont even think he'll do a full exhaust...

alright - seems like we got a POA here.

THE JB4 has been ordered already and is on the way, and he already has a dump valve the car came with - but here's the plan-

1)Firstly, get the turbo replaced, OR replace both turbo's with a new OEM set.

2)while the turbo's are being done, and labour is being payed - bolt on either BMS downpipes (R7400 delivered) or a similar replica set (R6100 delivered).

3)Then just get powerflow to swap out the 2ndary cats with straight pipe. (thinking removing 4 cats in the system might get a bit raspy) so most likely resonators actually.

4)George suggests that with this car at 90 000kms it WILL benefit from a Carbon clean,

5)and at the same time, instead of bolting on the airbox again, he'll fit the Burgertuning intake we can get at a good price (just the basic one, as anything else starts getting WAY too expensive)

6) Slap the JB4 into Auto tune and that's it

-what power figures have you guys got with similar mods?

-am i missing something here that would be a must? charge pipe? Full exhaust? etc...

the decisions on downpipes etc will be made this week and i'd like to let him know what he's in for.

Thanks guys!!!

Try replacing the turbo's with a set instead of just one if possible

that's what i just discussed with him right now, Rather do the set (while the car's in pieces) and then you know all's been done and fresh parts. - even if he puts off the rest of the mods for now for sake of cash flow... i mean, even if the car stays with the stock Hardware, it'll get a good bump with the JB4.

Hi Gents

Does anyone have any experience to share about Savspeed. Back when I was a laaitie uncle Sav was the man to talk to when it came to modding beemers.
Now it seems the limelight has shifted a little bit.

Reasons for asking is I'm starting to really itch to modify my E82 135i.
