Risipit said:645Nm hooked me up and yes, it made a huge difference. It didn't lag anymore, the acceleration was incredible, had a far greater power band and it red lined higher. I put new air filters in and it was like a new ride. Only paid R5k: SO worth it!!!

Sweet! Sounds good!
What air filter did you install? Did yours come with a flat pad or a cylindrical paper filter thing like mine?
Mine is #6 on this page - http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=UL52&mospid=50766&btnr=13_1123&hg=13&fg=20
Risipit said:Went for the entry level kit cold air intake K&N part 57-0648 (had to look it up now), which made a difference to the standard factory fitted filter, but with the extra 25kw nothing else really mattered.![]()

@ObviouslyObviously said:I'm sure glad to have crossed over onto the dark side...especially after tasting the softserve on offer.
The car has a K&N 57i induction kit with custom made heat shield fitted as well. I've got the 17" wheel & tyre upgrade, Star Spoke 256 I think, so there's plenty of grip in the twisties, well for me at least, except on full bore standing start take offs where the 205/50-17's at the rear simply cannot cope with the torque on offer. I suspect that the staggered setup with the 225/45-17 rears as per the M Sport model would be better in this regard. Yeah, I share your sentiments about the high speed stability concern, from 23. km/h onwards it seems to get a bit light at the front end almost like you have to make a concerted effort to keep it from wandering, with a corresponding lightness in steering feel. Nothing dangerous but just not the rock solid stability that I expected. Once again I suspect that the lowered setup & improved aero parts on the M Sport model would help in this regard. I believe that mine is the third gen commonrail. It's got the ally block 177HP N47 motor & EDC17 ECU.Twinz@Rennzport said:@ObviouslyObviously said:I'm sure glad to have crossed over onto the dark side...especially after tasting the softserve on offer.
Any other mods planned? Air filter?
I thought about quite a few mods but also left everything else standard after the software upgrade. The car felt funny at high speeds and in cornering with the stock rims & tyres but adding the 335 rims & tyres made a huge difference in the handling compartment.
Do you have the second or third generation commonrail turbo?
