What to do?

Hey guys

So i'm thinking of getting a neat BMW, tired of my donkey 320i E92. Looks very nice but quite a donkey, great for long distance not city

My options are

330i e46- has to be msport
330d e46- has to be m sport
320d e46- how are these cars?
M3 e36- how reliable are these and whats a fair price & mileage?
M3 E46- petrol eater.....maintenance will kill me right?
120d E87 -pity no 130d
130i E87- heard these are bullet proof cars

Budget is 80k to 140k but need the best buck and power for money

what do you suggest considering maintenence, engine wear, reliability,looks, petrol considering i do under 100km a week and perhaps on weekend 100km as well?

You are better off staying with your "donkey".

There is a saying I learn't very well in the last year... there is a difference between being able to buy an M3, and being able to afford an M3.

Although, my case is very complicated, I doubt you'd be spending anywhere as much as me on your M3, I would still throw caution your way. The ///M car parts are almost 4-5 times more expensive.

For instance, I needed a sump gasket for my M3. Now, if you go look on real OEM you will find that the e46 M3 and the e46 330i share the same sump gasket. Same part numbers. Yet, you pay over R2000 for only the e46 M3 sump gasket, but you pay R600 for the entire 330i bottom gasket set, including sump gasket.

So, seeing as you are calling your car a donkey, I would look more towards the e46 330i side of things considering your budget.

What im trying to say is, You cant have POWER and cheap maintenance, limited engine wear, reliability,looks and good fuel consumption all in one BMW.

What you have now is what you are asking for.

With more power comes more maintenance ( fuel,tyres,brakes,clutches) and as Crash said these cars never work out as cheap as you figured before you own them.
