Depends on what you want, the freeflow will be loader, if you like that then it will be better.

Dont want anything loud (offensive), just want a more... full sound, a sound with more character, if you know what I mean. I want to bring out the sound of the 6 cylinder engine...

Well from what I have read a three box system on an I6 gives a deep and louder (but not too loud) sound.

I could say what I love hearing on, well just about any car, but it isnt forum safe. Or bonnet safe. Or boot safe. Or roof safe. Or leather safe. :fencelook:

this is what i have you probably a better judge than me because its mine... but i like the sound and the e90 should sound similar to mine because the displacement is the same :)

Well I liked the sound, when I was driving behind you I could just heard this deep rumble every now and then, not too much in your face and obtrusive, sounded nice.

well mine is a mandrel bent duel 57mm with 3 boxes and viper branches, but 50mm would be more than enough i went 57 because i want to fit a supercharger as some stage

the real question is do you want to spend 6k or 2k? a free flow can sound real nice and does not have to be loud... but unless you want maximum power and tune after i would rather go with a decat...

You can have a freeflow that is not noisy at all if it is fitted at the correct place, like Powerflow....TNT...or Viper...

do a decat first dude, and if its still too soft, then go the freeflow route. in the end, everyone here has their own opinion of what would sound nice to themselves, rather be safe than sorry and have what you like done, in stags so you don't regret a full job done later, in case.
