There are many excellent brands to choose from in the automotive world but few can deliver the exhilaration of a BMW and live up to the tag name “The Ultimate Driving Machine” So what makes a BMW so different than other luxury brands in the market?
The secret sauce is in the drive itself.
Anyone who is a BMW owner can tell you about the way they felt the first time they sat behind the wheel of a BMW. It is this unique BMW feel that grabs a hold of you and never let’s go. It’s exciting and addicting! I remember the first time I took one for a drive like it was yesterday. I remember thinking to myself “All cars drive about the same right?
Boy was I mistaken!
The wheels on the 3 Series I took for a drive felt like they intuitively tracked where I wanted them to go and the car felt as though it was glued to the road. I had never driven anything that felt so balanced and planted on the road as it slalomed thru the corners. It was amazing!
Until you put yourself behind the wheel of a BMW, you can’t begin to understand why so many people compare the drive of a BMW to that of riding a rollercoaster. One word of caution however, once you experience “The Ultimate Driving Machine; it’s hard to go back to a car with “vanilla” handling again.
Here a some key reasons that contribute to that BMW feel and 5 reasons it is called “The Ultimate Driving Machine”
1) 50/50 Weight Distribution
All BMW’s are required to maintain a balance of never more tha 2% weight difference between the front and rear of the vehicle. No other automotive brand adheres to such rigid weight discipline requirements.
This is the core reason that gives the BMW its solid feel on the road and gives you the confidence you are always in control and in sync with your vehicle.
2) Stability Control System
The system on a BMW that detects oversteering and understeering and will make adjustments to assist the driver in order to keep the car stable, balanced, and in control.
3) Brake Stand By
Other braking systems begin to move the brake pads up against the rotors once you put your foot on the brake.
BMW’s begin to move those systems into place when you take your foot off the gas. This enables the vehicle to anticipate when you are going to brake and stop quicker.
4) Brake Drying
Wet brakes are less effective.
BMW brakes recognize when there is moisture and employ systems to dry themselves.
5) Brake Fade Compensation
Heat will minimize brake effectiveness. When the temperature of the brakes on your BMW rise, the braking systems will provide more brake pressure to maintain effectiveness.
These are just a few things that set BMW apart from the other quality vehicles in the market. Schedule a test drive today to indulge yourself in the full experience.
