BMW M said:I think this goes for Diesel aswell, on my Navara 2.5dci it runs alot better on 500ppm Sasol than on 50ppm Sasol, the engine seems quieter with 500ppm to. :dunno:
With the transportation strike, I filled the Dynamic with 500ppm (BP) at the tank we have at work, and she also seems quieter ans smoother... economy seems to be the same. Maybe the 500ppm lubricates the fuel system better? :dunno: BMW only recommends 50ppm Diesel thou.

500ppm is better for everything but the diesel particulate filter. It will clog up the filter much quicker and the car will go into limp mode to save the turbo from the increased temperatures. This will take a couple of tens of thousands of km though. If you use 500ppm just in emergencies, the filter will still be able to regenerate again when you put in clean fuel.
P1000 said:I don't know the exact ratios for whats healthy for the dynamic. I do know that a particulate filter for that car would be in the region of R25k, so rather stick to 50ppm if possible. If you want to you can add 300cc two stroke oil to lube the pump and injectors. Make sure it is non-synthetic JASO FC oil, though. On the Navara there should be no reason why you cannot run 500ppm.
