What is the best exhaust for e36 325

Good day fellow BMW lovers:rollsmile:

I have an e36 325 and currently have the e36 m3 exhaust and branch fitted on . I'm looking for a bit more power and quite a few people are saying to go with a different exhaust system. I'm from durban so Primaforce would be my choice to do my exhaust .
However I love the noise I get from my current exhaust and I would hate if I had to lose it for barely any power gain.

Any advice on whether I should change the exhaust and branch or not ? Or could I expect a power gain that's actually worth it ?

Thanks in advance for the advice !!

My guess is other forum members would say the same as me:

Your car is already tuned to the limit, if it is decatted and you have the M3 exhaust on it, there would not be a huge, if any change, in the power output of the engine.

If you love the current sound of the M3 exhaust, I would leave it as is if I were you. :coolShake:

From my research the M3 branch is as good as it gets

These guys are messing with you....

Take off the setup immediately. You are losing lots of power.
I will happily assist you in disposing your current setup.

okay what about a cam job then ? i was thinking a 256 268 split, but thats well in the region of 15k with a good head job.

so quite frankly i don't know what to do or which route to take to get some power but maybe a chip with a good tune should do then ?

Firstly, what power gains are to be expected with the M3 branch and exhaust fitted to a standard 325i?

And

How would this effect the standard ecu? Will it cope with aftermarket cams or will a aftermarket ecu or add on be necessary?

can tune and stroking it out would make sense beyond that it is probably more cost effective to go with boost :)

I have the same set up as yours, M3 branch and decatted exhaust and I can't see you getting a better set up than that.

I felt the difference immediately after I've fitted the exhaust and even better throttle response after I've fitted the branch.

That's my opinion anyway.

I think you need to make up an adapter plate.....itb's with fuelrail and injectors go for around 4.5-6 k last time I checked. And then you'd have to run management I think

The exhaust you have setup is decent, don't fix whats not broken...
If you want power though stroke that mofo..those motors make for a nice 2.9 banger
