318i BMW e46 2003 touring - after i went for a drive...water leaks out the bottom, more to the centre below the gearbox...drips slightly...not gushing. Aircon wasnt on.....hmmmm

Possibly heater core related. Two coolant pipes leading into your car right next to each other, check those for leaks first.

Your gearbox is also cooled using the water cooling system, make sure you do not have a leak there, as it could cost ya

Although you should see that a lil easier, as its just 2 pipes that runs through a cooler on the box.

I am also having the same problems since the beginning of the week the car just started over heating - then I notice water was escaping from the cap - cap was cuffed - brought a new one thought the problem was sorted till i noticed coolant light coming on again - traces of water on the driveway. So what could it be now?

Bud i agree with major only water pipes there!

@Tlvivo sounds like you might have cracked the water pipe housing on the front of the head!
