Try a couple squirts of WD40 for the time being until you get to service your car. It might help.

For the sunroof you can use a standard water resistant Silicone Grease.

Liqui Moly has a fantastic Grease specifically for door hinges, sunroofs and even to get rid of rattles on the dashboard.

Dont use WD40... It will disintegrate the remaining grease and then evaporate leaving you with no grease.

Hi Veedup

I dont have it loaded on the store but if you can give me a moment I will gladly upload it for you and post a link.

With regards to the Castrol oil... It all depends on what oil you are using. Either way I would recommend that you rather drain the Castrol oil and replace it with new oil. This ensures that your oil lasts longer and works better.

Most oils can be mixed except for Fully Synthetic oils but we wouldnt recommend it at all.

Cool, thanks...

Where are you located?? maybe I can come get the grease from you?

I'll wait for the next service and then get the oil from you and give it to BMW to use...

Hello

We are located in Observatory (Lower Main Road). You are more then welcome to come collect if you would like.

Here is the product on our Online Store:

http://www.sosoil.co.za/shop-more.php?pid=133

It is rather expensive. The reason for this is because it is a Silicone Grease which makes it extremely durable and it is pretty high performance too.

You can also use it on door hinges etc so its a worthy buy for more then one application.

Hope this helps. :)

Mike

And you are more then welcome to give me a call before your service. Buying direct is usually cheaper then buying oil from BMW.
