What does de-baffle mean?

Hi guys

Been doing some reading about CAI...I kept coming across the term "de-baffle" can someone please explain what this means, how it’s done...pics would be great? :thumbsup:

it is when u encounter a problem while installing the CAI = baffled

Once you fix this problem = De-baffled

I don't know bud. All these terms/ big words baffle me as well.

Basically the stock airbox has some baffle in it to decrease engine noise. The baffle usually consists of a pipe leading into your airbox and slightly restricting the flow of air. If you remove the baffle, you will get slightly more engine noise and a bit better performance.

If you look inside your airbox you will see a plastic pipe, just remove that.

Inside the airbox is plates or 'obstructions' called baffles that help give a constant flow of air into the intake and keep 'raw' air from pushing directly onto the filter. Removing these helps to 'streamline' the flow of air, maybe even get bigger air flow.

Interesting so we dont have them man...
