Had the rear brakes changed on my E90.
First time attempted and it was piss easy.

Hardest part was jacking up the car:rollsmile:

soooo.. Saturday saw me being left with rain outside and bored out of my skull.

I decided to do some work on Betty. slid under the car, cut the sound deadening stuff that collapsed onto the propshaft and trimmed it nicely so its no longer on the propshaft and coupling.

removed the exhaust heat shield and gave it a nice clean and let it dry.

then for the life of me, I couldn't understand why there was always this extreme heat wave inside the car that scorches your boutjies. removed the gear leaver gator and found that the rubber grommet has dislodged itself and then I also noticed that some person put the sponge bit around the gear leaver in wrong as well.

slid back under the car and refitted the heat shield. My wife comes into the garage and says, are you not done.. to which I replied, i'm just admiring how sexy and clean this looks.. she shook her head and mumbled something in the line of, you men a bedonered..

then opened her doors and gave the seats a nice ones over with a microfiber cloth cleaning off the grime from the seats.. once done, I leather creamed the seats with this stuff I bought at midas.. I was told it was good but didn't realise how good.. it brought back the rich black leather look without making it greasy or shiny.. it was really awesome..

Saturday done, and Betty's ass looking finer than ever.

That must have taken most of the day :praise: Regarding the leather treatment, someone told me a while back that they got the leather care stuff from a place in menlyn here at an animal farm.

:roflol: laughing my bud off I said ok, now what did you get from them and he said that it was the leather care (petjelly tube like) and that it moistures the leather extremely well. Though this was a bunch of bs and went to Menlyn (off course had to find out for myself what the hek this dude was on and found that it work wonders for my seats. I thought to myself why did I never think about it, of course a horse saddle is  ridiculously expensive and they treat it with this.

Long story short, I now always go to the animal farm to fetch horse saddle treatment pet jelly to treat my baby. No more Midas.

:praise: and the work you did on your car, that's insane :praise:

the few drops of rain, on a very dusty car, made for unsightly mud blotches, hose and wipe, to make the daily look a bit more acceptable

Fitted a set of Gloss Black kidney grills to complete the M-Performance look.

Out of spare cash for now though, so the rest of the upgrades will have to wait a while.

The car is looking sweet though! Will post up some pics soon as I get the chance!

Yesterday I replaced the valve cover gasket.I noticed oil leaks underneath and was adviced to change it based on the car's mileage. It was an easy DIY,the bulk of the time was taken by cleaning the cover with Prepsol and removing the gasket maker that was used right around previously.I was disappointed when I found out there were no leaks:cry:.Will jack up the car this weekend and give it a thorouh wash underneath and trace those leaks.By the way the car is a 2001 X5 3.0i with 224xxxkm.

Do they were dirty socks to work?:roflol:
