what dealerships are good?

OK, seeing that Zambesi Auto has +2 for sales I thought I would share my experience with the same salesman in 2012. I enquired about a blue E90 323i advertised online. The salesman told me they had spent about R10k (can't remember the exact figure) getting the car in tip top condition (resprayed the front bumper, new tyres etc.). I asked about all known defects, negotiated on the price and told him if everything is as he told me it is I will buy the car, explaining that I'm from Potchefstroom. Drove all the way to the dealership only to find that the bumper and bonnet had lots of stone chips and was most definately not resprayed, the driver's door rubber was badly torn, the bonnet and roof was riddled with white paint specs, some interior trim peel/fade and there was some kind of noise when driving. The service book was also missing but the service history checked out OK.

I was ready this morning to tell BMW finance, oh wait I did tell them to fetch my car and shove it.

Now those that will remember I had issues with Leo Haese Centution 6/2012.
http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=32207

So this morning take my car in for a service. got to the office and Fatima (best service adviser ever) calls me back, to inform me that my MP is suspended. So thought "mmmmm" probably after I had the minor left front repair. so call ABS Auto Body, get told by Cassie, that everything is in order. Monique Trollip at BMW SA says its cause my car has a parrot Bluetooth kit. Again I think what the "F", again this issue? so try calling her, after 2 and a half hours got hold of her, she is rude, tells me she can only see whats on her system, I must call the call center and drops the phone in my ear.

Than as usual, Alwyn mos got this A-team at his dealership. All of a sudden I get a call from Fatima. She says not to worry, they sorted it out. Leo Haese Centurion went and loaded a comment on my motorplan about the bluetooth kit. (F'ers. I bought the car from them like that, and have not been to their dealership after tat incident more than two years ago.
Luckily Club motors' A-team (Fatima, Regima, Charlene and Virgilio), sorted me out.

So in my mind club motors Fountains is the best, and should be cloned. Left them a nice compliment on BMWSA facebook page.

Scrap that, been waiting for two hours to be collected to get my car. So my daughter is sitting and waiting on daddy as she needs to be performing for Andante.

BMW's are great cars, but I will rather set my testicles on fire, before I spend money on another BMW EVER again.

Lyndhurst Auto - No thanks...'nuff said
Club Motors Randburg - Never had a bad experience with them in 4 years of service
Northcliff Auto - Bought a new car from them several years ago and they added options to secure the deal. Sales staff are clueless now. Service dept sucked, so I moved to CM Randburg
Cedar Isle Auto - Service dept is amazing. Parts dept the same. New car sales staff are awfully inefficient.
JSN Motors - Service dept is so-so. Charlene in new car sales is the definite go-to person there
Leo Haese Centurion - Natasha in the service dept is the go-to person there. Limited interaction with the dealership as a whole though

Errm my car was in last week for a service, they did not stamp the books or reset the mileage car was washed like their @$$. I had to take it back yesterday to do a diagnosis and guess what when I got the car back as I am putting my laptop back I see the battery cover is not on properly, then I see the plastic compartment where the first aid kit as well as the battery cover are not mine have scratches and some oil on them and my boot is meticulous to say the least. I take both covers back inside and demand my covers be returned to me. The service manager gives me some bull and I must now prove that those are not my covers. Never again will I take my car back there.

Bought a 07 335I Coupe from Forsdicks Tygerberg 6 weeks ago. Had a few issues they fixed. Opened oil filler cap while cleaning engine and found sludge like you can't believe. Took the car back Tuesday, went back this morning and the engine is busy being stripped. Head off, ready to go to the recon shop for a full clean and valve job.:clapper::clapper::clapper: Car done 104 0000km. Bought it at 98 000km and out of Mplan. Full BMW service history, so no probs there. They have accepted full responsibility and will do total repair at their expense. So far, I am very impressed. Have dealt with them a number of times before, but this is very acceptable service. Lets hope the positiveness continues!!

In the Cape I would advise avoiding Auric Auto in Claremont! they are a bunch of thieves and should be put out of business for their bad business ethics.

SMG on the other hand have been fantastic and I have enjoyed taking my business there even though I have to travel twice the difference it is always worth it.

Just a follow up: Forsdicks removed the engine, did whatever they had to do, and are refitting the lot. Should get it back on Friday, and hopefully all will be well. The oil filter looked like something from a horror movie, all gunged up and seriously dirty. Well, let's see if I am still so positive on Monday!

Just wanted to share a bit of frustration with Cedar Isle Auto. Ordered my new windscreen last week Monday and made the booking to fit it. Confirmed on Thursday last week that the windscreen had arrived. Late yesterday get a call confirming my booking for today, and this morning I dropped the car off.

And hour or so later I get a call, from Cedar Isle, and the person on the other end says "I would like to make a glass fitting appointment". This was the dealership, calling me by mistake to make an appointment with the glass company to fit my windscreen. Seriously! A week and a day after making the booking, and no-one bothered to make an appointment with the glass company? The SA phoned me to then tell me that the glass people were not there yet, and that my car would not be ready today.

The first fail was not making the booking
The second fail was phoning me by mistake while trying to make the booking
The third fail was the SA saying to me "well Sir I only heard about your booking yesterday and there is nothing I can do."

Fail three=phone call to the DP.

Auto Atlantic suck! Dropped my car off on Thursday for oil service. Normally take it to SMG, but thought how could you mess up an oil change? Dropped car of at opening time 7:15, heard nothing by 4pm, phone them. Sorry car is nearly done, come and collect at 5pm. Get the at 5pm, wait 30min to get car. Next morning turn ignition on and they haven't even reset the service indicator?!!!? :smashScreen:
10hrs to do an oil change? Only 3 things to do, change oil, change filter and reset service indicator. Only another month and I dont have to deal with these idiot stealerships. Biggest BMW fan, but dont think I'll ever buy a car on motorplan just so I dont have to deal with passionless people anymore.
