I had the worst BMW service experience in my life from Club Motors Fountains.

After being ignored for 15 minutes while Celeste was having an argument with one of the other assistants, ending with the words "the f******* customer can wait (!), she was extremely rude to me, and within about 1 minute I was shouting at her.

Long story short, they didn't fix a non-working cigarette lighter (!), they over-adjusted the handbrake (it binded) so I had to loosen it myself. They didn't fix the non-working autodip mirror. They didn't fix the sticking GPS display. They dropped some white spots of gunk on my dash. They didn't fix a noisy wheel bearing. They let the battery run flat (!!!). The rake on the steering wheel was so bad that I had to stop on the way home to fix it. They didn't even wash the car decently. I had to wait 1 one hour while they "dusted it off".

There is an issue with the ecu, which they just "didn't find anything", and that seems so solve the issue for them.

Previously they worked on the handbrake. The mechanic forgot to tighten some bolts inside the wheel and later they worked loose, damaging the inside of the hub.

I complained to the manager and the public relations guy, I'm still waiting for an answer.

strange as she had resigned begining of august,just after she got back from holiday on the south coast.

the day she gave in her letter,before work,the manager ,came to her in front of the customer s and had words with her,he should have takening her to his office,she was asked to leave immediatlly,wasnt even allowed to say good buy to her work collegues.she was actually busy at the time booking in a car when this happened,and according to her she asked the manager if she could finish with the client,which he said no,thats when she lost her temper.

she had the highest rating there,as each member is evaluated when they phone to see if you are happy,or not(95%) where as the rest are no higher than 83 %

she has moved to another dealer,which is out of my way ,but im considering of taking my car there from now on as,the other people dont have this friendlyness ,smile or charm she has.

i did speak to the big boss and he didnt want to talk about it,but i think he is the problame as 5 people resigned in 3 months,due to un happy workin conditions.

reason why i know this is we are personaly friends with her and her familly,and im not saying this because i know her,but,she is really a very good friend and very helpful and passionate with her job.

it was just a bad day,made worse by manegement.

if you dont mind i would like to show her this thead and she if she has anything else to add.

Who has experience with Menlyn and Zambezi Auto?
Where to now in the Pretoria area, as the recommended LH Hatfield and Club motors Fountains also provided some negatives from customers.

Clearly some changes came to being at Fountains. Mr. Rudi is an early bird, that can make his customers wait for a long time.

i wil not take my car to menlyn,and they are just down the road from me.heard lots of bad stories here,cars being scratched,parts charged for and not replaced.also when you look at there cars,new or used,they dont gett up to help,and see if you are interested.

i might take my car to zambisie,celeste works there now,so know my car is in good hands,but its out of my way.

fountains was ideal as its on the way to my wifes work.

will be going to see celeste tomorrow to get her views on the august story.

This is Celeste, if it is possible can you pls tell me the date this happened because I can not remember any of this and I would never speak to any customer in this manner. I was only at work 3 days in August. I then went on leave and resigned the day I got back which was the 15th of August and left the same day. On that day (the 15ht) I was only there until 10h00.

Sailing into troubled waters here...
Colin went out of his way to meet me @ CMF to speak to the people after I just wanted to get rid of my car due to one breakdown and resulting issues.
Yes they slipped up - Rudi is very busy and I had to wait a while. He acknowleged that he will be with me in a moment.
Fortunately I am relatively patient.
When the car was presented there was a mark on the right hand fender that looked like a scratch mark - a very long scratch mark. Fortunately it was something they used to clean the car with (not to sure what it was, but it came off easily).
The car was sorted, everything that needed to be done was done and to me this is what matters.
About two weeks later I discovered some missing stickers. I think it was them, but I can't say for sure (and therefore I am not allowed to think that :rollsmile

All and all I just wanted my car to be sorted, which it is.
IMO these were small slipups.

Personally I would take the car back to Club Motors Fountains.

Pinnacle auto in secunda belong in the list of shame i have the invoices to prove it charging for parts at exorbitant prices and not even fitting them to the car i have all the proof on paper ,stay away

Eastview bmw in nelspruit are on my list of shame ,CHANCRES trying there luck .broke parts without telling me ,even left there tools in my car and then they had to do the same gearbox service 3 times to eventually get it right ..

Why didnt you confront them with this then and have it sorted? (Pinnacle Auto) I can assure you that Jacques (Dealer Principle) will not sit for this kind of thing if you have the proof. I know there was issues a few years back where something similar happened, it ended in the firing of a technician and appology and refund & free fitment of the parts to the customer.

I've been dealing with these guys for 5 years now, as a family, we have bought 7 BMW's from Pinnacle in this period and and I cannot say a single bad thing about them, they bent over backwards to satisfy their customers, from Sue-Allen at the service department, all the way to Jacques the DP. Naomi phones us everytime after a service to ask if there is ANYTHING which they can do diffrently to better serve their customers... This is done in house and not by CSI...

I say +10 for Pinnacle for the EXCELLENT service we have received from them over the past 5 years... No wonder they have so many 'Dealership of the year' awards...

This is not a personal attack on E60 POWER, but just my experience with dealing with Pinnacle. Putting them on a list of shame... :nono:

i have to aggree with you bmw m,we had a problem at nissan centurion,spoke to the dealer manager,there and then ,all sorted out.

in genreral if the problem is sorted out then and there,we wouldnt be accussing people falsely about things,5 months after it happened and giving that specific person a bad name instead of the dealer

Autohaus Monti after sales/ parts department is terrible! I ordered a Alpine Retrofit for my E90 and they said they were none in the country. I waited 3 months and got no calls. I went to visit them and they said another customer wanted this too and they are still ordering. Waited another 3 months and still no calls about my order. I officially gave up when I went again and was still told my product was on order.:thumbdo:
However Auto Atlantic in Cape Town has been the best service I've ever recieved so far from a BMW dealership. As soon as I walked in they offered me coffee. I was looking at a M3 in matte black (which I obviously couldn't afford but a sales men) came my way with keys and asked if I wanted to have a look. Very friendly staff. I have heard Tygervalley has good service but have never been there.
