what dealerships are good?

I believe Leo Haese PRETORIA, actually needs to go up a few points.

I have an E46 330d, I always thought that servicing at a dealer was a total rip off. After sending my car to gizmo, he diagnosed a few issues that he could not sort out as he was not too experienced with diesels, so i was dragging my heals trying to find a decent independent repairer, to be honest I was not keen to do this and preferred to get this done at a dealer but did not feel like falling off my chair after seeing the quote.

When John launched his special offers, i decided that I should get a quote for interest sake. I almost fell of my chair after seeing how affordable it was to get the work done at the dealer, the only issue was getting the car to Pretoria as I was based in Sandton. in the end I decided to get the car to PTA and use the Gautrain.

On the train going to fetch my car up I realised that I needed to arrange an uber to get me from the station to the dealer, at that moment I received a call saying that there is a driver waiting for me - I was impressed.

I pick up my car - have a great chat to John (Who is very passionate about the BMW brand: for those who have not met him). As I drive off, I feel that the aircon was not as cold as it should be (I have not driven this car on a hot day in ages so I forgot how the aircon felt). I was sure that I asked for the Aircon re-gas special so I call John to have a look (it is now 5pm). He comes over and pulls the car back into the workshop and gets one of the senior techs to re-gas the car - there was a fault on the machine so we decided to call it quits at 8:30pm.
We chatted for hours and the time flew by.

John calls me first thing in the morning and arranged for Sandton Auto to fetch my car and re-gas it. That is when we realised that I did not ask for the aircon re-gas to be done when I asked for the quote. I felt horrible that John had to spend a late night trying to sort out something he was not supposed to:blueCry:

I owe him big time.

It is rare that you meet someone that is so passionate about what they do.
John is an absolutely awesome guy, I would recommend his workmanship and services to anyone.

There is actually quite a few raves under their subforum.

Hope they stay on as affiliated dealership, and we don't get that other Leo Haese.

Well-done JSN, not that I am surprised. I have met Nivz and his team. :clapper:

The way i see it is that no one is wrong.

Clearly there were issues with Ferdi"s car and the dealership assisted in resolving the issues. I agree that they should fit the bill for customer piece of mind.

But when does it stop being the dealerships responsibility??

A lot of you know me and is always trying to help where i can, thats just how i am.

If there is something that i can help resolve then i will take it up with the salesperson to see if there is something that can be done.
This is not my department within the dealership and i will gladly try and help.

Regards
Jerry

I took my car for a service yesterday at JSN still under MP and I was very impressed with the service.
It took me about 5 minutes to book in the car, they knew who i was since the time i pulled into the dealership, the documentation was ready to be signed and lift was waiting for me. Not even 5 minutes! that was awesome.

Got 3 calls throughout the day to give me progress on the car
Lift picked me up on time and most importantly all the work was done and more.

I drive a seven year old car and they treated me like i was driving a brand new M3.

Thumbs up to JSN.

Just to add - i have been using JSN for years now because they the closest but this time they upped their game.

Went past Alberante BMW to confirm the rumours, within the next 6 months they will cease to exist. They have over 300 employees which will be jobless, only 10% have been offered positions at other dealers. This is really sad news as BMWAG are shutting down the biggest BMW dealership in SA.

What's that now, the 4th BMW dealership in JHB alone to be shut down in under a year.

Any area with more than one dealership in close proximity the one that sells the least cars doesn't get it's 2year BMW contract renewed and is forced to shut down. Its all about the numbers for BMWAG, the accountants they have running the place are driving this brand into the ground!

The owner/dealer principal of alberante also owns lemon tree shopping centre and a bunch of businesses around Alberton and because of that he is hardly at the dealership and making appointments to see him is so difficult because he is hardly there. Because he is never there the sales teams aren't being motivated to sell more cars, you will notice the same used cars have been on their lot for the past 3 months.

If the boss isn't around to keep the company running well then it is destined to fail.

You make a valid point, I don't see many customers there actually, the used lot has a lot of cars. Was there 2/3 Saturdays back I was the only customer there. But I like that dealership, never an issue.. One of the very few that also take videos of the car when it goes in for servicing etc. Wonder where I shall service the BMW now.. Never will I ever go back to Auto Glen. So options are now limited for the South! Guess I'll take it to JSN and Uber home if the car needs to stay..

Howsit, I had an awful experience with Auric Auto's delivery of my vehicle at Cedar Isle Fourways (dirty car, no handover to speak of) - mainly the fault of Auric in Cape Town not communicating.

Needless to say, I made a complaint with Cedar Isle as well as BMW SA, and Cedar made a massive effort to correct the mistake. Really happy with the service I got from Gavin Berry! Would definitely recommend stopping by if you need anything!
