what dealerships are good?

Talking about dealerships closing, Forsdicks Pinetown I believe closed by BMW and Supertech have been given a "full range dealership" including Motorad and Mini.

As I understand it, they will be operating out of the old Forsdicks premises while a new facility is built at the bottom of Fields Hill where the caravan place used to be.

Does anyone know what a BMW service consists of?
I took my second hand purchase to have the motorplan transfered to my name as I bought it privately. This requires a 20 point-check or something (R1000), apparently the mechanic "continued" from the check and conducted the regular service. He changed air filters, spark plugs and wipers aside from other "checks" that are listed on my invoice. If anyone has any info on whether this is accurate that'd be very useful.

NB The reason I'm asking is because my service dealer almost sent me off after telling me that there was nothing wrong with the "normal" engine sound I had queried (petrol sounding like a diesel engine at startup). He later checked with the mechanic, came back and said that they have to order a part that has worn out and so I was right and they'll get back to me after ordering.
Not so NB is that there was loose change that I had forgotten about in my tray and now that's all gone. My concern is the integrity of the service dealership rather than the missing coins.

Also interesting is that this article http://goo.gl/SYFH01 listing SA's top vehicle brands for customer service doesn't mention BMW at all

P.S. Evidently I'm a noob.

When you sign the paperwork jou agree that all valuables are removed...this would include small change.

Maybe start by sharing which model you have and where this incident took place in order for us to have some perspective :)

Hopefully we can improve on experience? :clapper:

Leo Haese Pretoria is a forum sponsor. Leo Haese Centurion :puke: is a different dealership.

Thanks, Hugo_za,

I've got a 2012 320i Sport Line. Like I said, it's not about the money but the actions - my negligence included as you've pointed out.

Edit: I took it to Auto Atlantic in town.

Hi, have dealt with many dealerships and some are really poor i.c.w. product knowledge .... and are arrogant. However Cedar Isle BMW is a joy to work with - it's the people that make the business!

I must say, dealing with Autohaus Monti in East London has been quite good. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
My only gripe is that they couldn't help me out about warranty on my tyres, even though i bought the car from them 2nd hand not even a year ago.. as 3 of them got bubbles (run flats) and cost me 7k to replace..
Other than that, no complaints and they do a good service. When my motor plans ends, we'll see if this continues.

Bought the F30 330i from BMW Zambesi, and the car was in perfect condition.

Asked for M Performance kit to be fitted, and car comes to me with minor damage on the bumper.

They send the bumper for fix to someone who does the job like a backyard panel beater.

Salesman (Velen.C) is helpful but since it's out of his control, can't do anything.

Management are so farking hopeless and don't bother in what went on under their own farkin roof.

Forwarded this to a bud at Zambesi, let's see if he can help.

The manager is on leave at the moment but hopefully will get some feedback tomorrow..

P.S. What you doing in a Bimmer?

Hey my man DD! Happy to hear from you after all these years.

Imagine my first ever BMW I buy, I experience this shyte. I cancelled my other BMW order, not willing to take any risks with this brand to be honest. Over reaction yes, but my beloved VAG didn't fark me around like this, ever! Nor did MB.

The thing that's pissing me off right now is the fact that they not doing an QA/QC at all. They making this minor problem into a big one. Are they that stupid? (Rhetorical).

Oh well, let's see how this goes today, thanks for your kind assistance DD , chat soon.

Went to pick up the car, job done right after the 3rd attempt.

Velen.C took good care of the car ( I think ) so props to him. He's an asset to that dealership.

Thanks to you as well for asking your buddy to look into the matter.

Fellow Fanatic @444YYY spoke to Velen as well about this and was confident in him that all would be sorted.

Thanks Velen, James & Yash! :worshippy:
