Edit: just added mine for Auro Atlantic Cape Town, SMG Canal Walk and Forsdicks Tygervalley...
SMG Canal Walk: scratched a few wheels and the engine cover, forgot to stamp the service book. Over adjusted the handbrake causing it to bind and over-heat!
Outcome was that they were very sincere and apologetic - repaired the damaged engine cover and replaced the rear disks and handbrake shoes. Wheels left as is since TWT had scratched them before hand. At the end of the day they sorted everything out and were friendly and accommodating!
Forsdicks Tygervalley: asked to service my Wife's car and check the PCV for blockage. They were unable to reach me first thing in the morning, then after not being able to get hold of the service adviser later that morning left messages - phoned a few times through the day to hear from them and get a quote for the extra work needed to be done. Eventually it was close to the end of the day and we went through to collect the car. Was given a hand written quote for the rear brakes and PCV replacement, and told to make a booking for this. Sitting in peak hour traffic halfway home car begins to missfire to the point of being virtually un-driveable, and by that stage the dealership had already closed for the day. Service book not stamped and one of the wheel lock nut covers was missing. Phoned them the next morning to find out why the car was returned to us in an un-driveable state, service book not stamped, and missing part etc! Within a short time had a very rude workshop foreman on the other end of the phone - spoke to the dealer principle who seemed sincere in the beginning, but at the end was simply not willing to help and respect my property. Car was un-driveable and required a flat-bed, but they insisted that they would not be willing to cover this cost but would come out and fetch/drive it - and cause further potential damage!
Outcome was that the dealer principle was simply not willing to help me and out of frustration I simply ended the call, saying that they will never see my business again - won't even bring my lawnmower to them! Insurance covered flat-bed to a third party repair shop - bought the required parts from Forsdicks parts department (at least they are okay) and had them replace. At the same time collected the missing lock nut cover and had the service book stamped. Useless and just about everyone that we speak to, have had similar bad experiences! And BTW, this was a few weeks after the few issues that I had with SMG, and I made a point to deal with the same guy on the floor that helped me with the handbrake problem on my 330i since they were nearest to me when I had this problem - so with that in mind you would think that they would take extra care somehow!! Madness!
Auto Atlantic Cape Town: only thing that I can maybe complain about is that my floor mats have a few dirty marks that I must still try and clean, the driver's side lower door frame has a few dark shoe scuff marks on the grey trim. Other than that they appeared to have worked carefully on the car, although it was just to make sure everything is fine before the car goes out of motorplan. Software was updated, and a slightly loose exhaust bracket tightened.
Outcome is that I am very happy overall with the experience, although the rattle noise that I was complaining about is still present.
Please delete my comment above for future additions to the list - just wanted to elaborate a bit more with regards to my various experiences so far...
